What to upgrade first.

Alright, another tech question. I'm stuck in deciding what to upgrade first on my computer. I have 2GB of ram, and I still lag a little in Guildwars, I think it might be the Graphics card. But, in order to get a decent graphics card, I need a new PSU. I found both of these that will work for my compputer. I'm stuck between getting 2 2gb sticks of ram ($47), or getting the PSU + Graphics Card ($180). What should I upgrade first?

If you don't want to get a new PSU just get a low-profile video card its 20 bucks more but its the easier to go then spending 50+ Extra Witch buys you more time to save up for a better PSU + Ram then you are looking at so its more future proof then you can just be done with it. And your ram is fine unless your running vista then 4gigs might solve the problem. Lowprofile card-10-20+extra dollars to regular card Save get Ram+Psu EDIT: If people dont know low profile card depending on its power dosen't need any wats or uses up to 75% less wats.

I've looked for graphics cards for a 250 watt psu. There are almost none that are good.

Do you know what video card you have now? I dont want to be sending cards that are worse then what you have

i'd say the graphics card. nowadays ram doesn't have much to do with most games, contrary to what most say/believe. sure it has SOME things to do with alot, but you said you aready have 2GB and thats plenty for most common players. so yeah get the graphics card upgrade

I'm pretty sure it's not the RAM that is lagging Guild Wars because it doesn't require alot of RAM. Your best bet is to get the new PSU + GFX card, It would also be nice if you could tell us what kind of GFX card you are using now.

Give me your computer specs: CPU, type of ram, etc. Scenario 1: Pentium 4 (2.4-3.0ghz) DDR1/2 (2G ram) 450W Power Supply (Antec, Corsair, etc.) 8600GT (Any brand is fine, but preferably 512MB of DDR3 RAM) This is my suggestion if your computer specs. (CPU and ram) are around that area. Anything higher than a 8600GT for P4 processor would do you no good and as long as you use Windows XP you should be fine with 2G of ram. EDIT: Scenaio 2: Dual Core Processor (2.2ghz+) Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD ATHLON X2 series. 2G DDR 2 800 Ram w/heatsinks 450W power supply (Corsair, Antec, etc.) 8800GT/9800GT/9800GTX/9800GTX+ Anything higher for graphics is a waste, as your CPU is the bottleneck.
