What has happened to movies? I hate when a movie abuses the element of cancer/some disease that effects many for their own greedy purposes. If it was a documentary drawing alertness to that topic then sure, but I have family members with cancer and I hate seein it turned into a money making scheme for sum greedy company.

It was a book turned into a movie. Stories about cancer and diseases are heart warming ._.

dude wtf. Jodi Picoult made that book years ago, she makes tons of books about controversial topics and i for one think they're great. personally, my sisters keeper makes me cry everytime i read it, and although i have not seen the movie yet i imagine i'll enjoy it.

Think before you speak, in this case, research before you speak. The story of "My Sister's Keeper" was written long ago, and it not only concerned cancer patients, but the right to live. Some people, like you, may see it as some company trying to make money off of such story, but did you stop to even try to think about how the movie brings awareness? My Chemical Romance, Simple Plan, and many other artists out there have written songs about cancer patients, are they to blame too? It doesn't mock cancer patients. It tries to tug at your heart strings the same way someone may feel if their relatives had cancer. Why didn't you think of that before?

You see, Thread Starter, if no one had cancer in your family, you wouldn't care.
