First off, I am in no way bashing the meso being our form of currency. It works decently, however there are many flaws with it such as inflation/deflation, and the fact that exploits in the game can cause you to have huge amounts. All you can do with mesos is buy potions and low leveled equips, so why should mesos be the main form of currency in maple? In games such as Diablo II, gold is literally worthless, because you can only buy potions and junk items with it, however this is exactly the same in maple. In diablo, other items that are actually useful for all jobs are the main form of currency. I realize that obviously both games are not the same, but can someone tell me honestly why mesos have value? You can't do anything decent with them besides buy potions. I could see something like attack wgs or a certain type of item being the global currency, but not mesos, as you cannot use them as gear and they simply sit in your inventory (scrolls could not be a form of currency either, as they can easily be put out of circulation). I can expect lots of flames for this I'm sure, mostly by those who simply don't understand the concept of bartering. Things like inflation which maple is currently going through can be avoided like this, and it would be much harder for gold farming companies to make a profit off the game. Don't bother posting things like "lol noob, pro dexless NLs have alchemist and dont spend lots of money on pots. AM/bishop uses millions per hour". I know these things already, but if AMs and bishops actually looted their drops, simple math should tell that they should atleast be able to make back what they spend. And yes I know what money is, so don't bother trying to explain it. Discuss? ~_~ edit: I guess the only logical answer people can come up with is that the FM stores really got rid of item-to-item trades, and that sometimes people don't want the items each person has, making people stubborn about trades.

pavchkaThe Free Market makes Mesos worth a lot. Before there was the FM people actually traded items. I bought a Pan Lid for 200K, a Sky Board and a nunch of Ores before the FM came out. You can't trade items for items in the FM...

akasmock said: " but don't higher levels actually DO spend millions on pots?" I don't spend more then 2m/4 hours on pots, and the pure meso loot that I pick up is enough to pay for potions
