-sigh- Yeah, sorry for writing this on the EMS forum while I'm not even from EMS myself, and I'm not even sure if this should be the appriopriate section, but especially here I notice a lot of bad stuff about closed versions, especially in a thread about discrimination against Europeans that's up at this very moment. The main thing I notice here is this: In version wars ultimately the different continents are blamed . And that's a load of crap if you ask me. European Maplers signing up for MapleStory now are required to sign up at EMS, not GMS. (my account is 4 years old) Some European people are angry because of that, develope a grudge and then start slinging mud and for some reason the US, Bush, Obama and Hitler (why Hitler? I guess because thanks to him the US and the USSR saved Europe's butt in 1945) are to be blamed for this all. Then the people from the US hit back; in that other thread I mentioned I was quite literally accused of having killed people by tossing smallpox infested corpses at them after Columbus discovered the Bahamas, or Cuba, or what was it. But Columbus and I aren't quite uh... "era-mates" and I'm from a whole other part of the continent as well. Stereotyping and assuming, grasping at history and a potential future in which some hysterical Europeans are SURE the US will invade Europe and make it into the United European States of America. I wish we'd just stick at the subject and forget about all this hatred. It's not reasonable, not rational and no productive. Innocent people are being accused of the most terrible crimes in this issue, including bestiality and the eating of corpses. (that one really had me going "huh?") I don't know why I made this thread, I just want everybody to be happy. Just... be reasonable. It doesn't have to do with the US nor Europe, but with the policy of a company called Nexon America. And so what if it's called Nexon America ? People from the US can't just get to EMS either! Pav PS: What am I DOING? Ah well...

I didn't get the Hitler part, but yea. I thought Nexon America was called something different before though.

In the past the company that produced MapleStory was referred to as Wizet and the company that took care of the NX Cash was called NX Games, but I don't know if they were already part of Nexon, if they fused into Nexon or if Nexon bought them up. @_@ People say Wizet still exists.

Well, not to start another version war here, but Nexon (if my memory serves) was first started in Korea and published MapleStory, which was a Wizet game. I'm pretty sure Wizet still exists though, cause then AsiaSoft (I think?) wouldn't be able to publish MapleStory because they would need permission from Nexon, right?

Possibly, "youmerica"... it has a nice ring to it. Reminds me of the country my little brother invented by a lack of inspiration, Bamerika. I guess he reasoned after that would come Cemerika and Demerika. -_- I don't think the US is expansionist, by the way. Culturally maybe, but not in terms of land mass. And the people absorbing the US culture mostly do that themselves. To DivineKYO: and that's exactly why I always get lost here... MSEA isn't run by Nexon as far as I know. ><*

But if you scroll up, you see Wikipedia said: " Developer(s) Wizet Publisher(s) Nexon" So Nexon must be the main publisher and Wizet must have made the game, stating they still have ownership over the game.

Wizet is the company that made and still updates MapleStory versions. They are paid by other companies for the priveledge to run the game. You can see Wizet on the logon screen

Wizet was the original owner of MapleStory, as they created all of the files and things And Nexon had the money to publish it, and 'improve it' (nexon cash >_> aka NX). Wizet is still a part of MapleStory, Nexon comes up with the ideas and ways to make money, where as Wizet still does all the coding and stuff.

(even though it took over other parts of Europe after that.) Maybe I should have used Canada as a better example.
