Im planning my 3rd job build already, and i was thinking about eagle and mortal blow. As i'm going to max strafe and AE, adding some points to MB and puppet, and leaving blizzard at 21, i was thinking about MB and eagle. MB is passive, i wouldn't have to activate it. Also, it looks powerful and helpful, like an advanced critical hit. Eagle consumes a summoning rock, has to be respawned and the stun effect can be replaced by freezing the mob with blizzard. The skill itself will be replaced at 4th job by frostprey, much more powerful even with 1SP. I'm not even talking bout thrust. My build would be this: lvl 70- 1 strafe, then 2 strafe 1MB til 75, and then 2 strafe 1 AE to max strafe as soon as possible. When maxed, 2 AE 1 blizz, then 2 blizz to 21 and 1 puppet, later 2/3 puppet 1/0 MB, maxing MB and remaining points to eagle. what pros and cons would this build have? thanks for reading

Some monsters can't be frozen.

By freezing a mob instead of stunning it with eagle, you'll lose out of quite some damage, using blizz will probably will hit around 2kish, while when you would stun it with eagle and use a strafe instead you'll hit around.. 8k? That is a 6k damage difference. Anyway.. If you're not taking thrust, you'll use 121 skillpoints w/o adding anything in eagle.. Which would mean you would getting it maxed anyway. And if you're maxing it then anyway, i would suggest getting it before MB, because eagle > MB in those lvls anyway.

Well for a sniper most people leave hawk at 15 since thats all you need for lvl Frost o_o but really that sounds like a good build =o i mean what else can you rly add to?

PUPPET MUST TO MAXED :O Have at least 15 points on eagle. 21 points of ice shot. Max one skill at a time, its better :3

Well, strafe 30SP, AE 30SP, puppet 20SP, Blizz 21SP, MB 30SP thats 131SP. considering i'll have 50lvls x 3SP + 1SP= 151SP So as max eagle needs 30SP i would only be able to add 20SP before advancing. But is MB helpful? I've seen a lot of people saying you dont have to max it

That sounds nice, thx @ liyanggu, yes, maxing one at a time may be better, but strafe is better than double arrow, and i cant leave it at a low lvl, and the same happens with iron arrow and AE, it will be better for training AE at a low-mid lvl than maxed IA, won't it?

Siem said: "Some monsters can't be frozen." Most of the time, we don't train on monsters that can't be frozen (exception is maybe Typhons?, but you'll get hit regardless since there's so many). Honestly, I have never used eagle for training, onlly for show o_o. To your other questions: It's best to get strafe to 20 (or get like a few in strafe, then 5 in mb, rest into AE). For your strafe 2 mb 1, it's only good when you have 0 points in mb. After dumping 1 into mb, go something like 3 strafe, then 3mb. Mb, at lvl 1, is only to be raised to 5 to unlock AE. At higher lvls of course, there is no other useful skill so it's time to max mb.

Split building like that really is a terrible way to build a character. You're just going to suck in every aspect instead of being good in one. I don't get what's with the rash of soon-to-be archers making uninformed builds before they're ever in 3rd job, but I need to say a couple things. One, most archers I know have changed their build plans at least 3 times in the course of leveling. And two, we have fantastic stickied threads taking care of builds that you really should read, else you risk seriously screwing up your character. Snipers are very straightforward with build options.

I've seen a lot of people saying you dont have to max it" Max for MB is 20, not 30...so you have 10 extra SP than you originally thought... @Igfuad - I did a split build for 3rd job and I'm totally fine. I got Strafe to level 8, Arrow Rain to 21 and Puppet to 12. Then jumped around between Strafe and Hawk after that. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone, but seldom can you throw something out there and say it definitely doesn't work for anyone. I liked the versatility of training spots. So what exactly suffers when you split build?
