I e-mailed a guy about his personal ad for a guitar. We set up a meeting place, I call him up to see if it's still on. He says he sold it an hour ago -_______- Do you think he's an Idiot?

There's no law saying that it is.. And you didn't pay him a fee to not sell it to anyone first. (forgot noun >__<)

No. As a seller, he'd want to get a deal asap. Since he didnt personally know you, he probably didnt expect any consequences.
