| I was just looking at a dpm comparison between the classes, and I was amazed at the dpm of corsairs. In terms of solo bossing, the corsairs beat the 2nd highest job, bm, by quite a long shot. But not only do the corsairs have good 1v1 damage, they've also got a couple nice mob attacks, notably torpedo and air strike. And mobility with recoil shot. Their 3rd job isn't so shabby either with freeze, summons, and a powerful 1v1 attack. So, do you guys think the hell levels from 10-70 (which are fairly easy to attain, from my experiences) is enough to balance the class out? Discuss, comment, flame, whatever. |

I can't really tell from the damage range thread whether people are wearing HP gear, but my level 127 unwashed Bowmaster has a bit under 3600 HP WITH 300-ish HP MoN and a 80 HP Zakum helmet. The Corsairs of my level have around 200-300 more HP than I do. |

| Yes, because Gunslingers are bad. Outlaws and Corsairs are great, but Gunslingers are ish. And so are F/P's, I realised. They've got no mobbing and I'm bored. Really bored. >_> |

So then they have to rely on a 2nd rate skill, Rapid Fire. 3rd, Corsairs get no buffs at all from 2nd job to 4th job (other than the obvious skills)." "I suffered through 2nd job" is a terrible justification for being godly in 4th job. It's not true, either. Corsairs are made for power. We have really high numbers on paper, but we don't have the avoid and the defensive and support skills that a lot of other classes have. Nearly all of our skills are attacks, or upgrades to...attacks. A good example of where pure offense has problems is soloing Pap. NLs can Dark Sight and archers can Puppet to solo Pap before they can pin him. Corsairs have to bring their damage high enough so they can constantly hit 12ks. Otherwise it's pretty tricky to pull off. |

If you just like pure DPM, Corsairs are really good, but if you like the other stuff like avoid, high HP, HP/MP recovering, etc, there are other jobs that are very very good in those areas. I think some people think Corsairs are overpowered because they focus too much on just DPM. :P |

| that chart is all theory. -sairs off ship sucks -if a sair needs to constant mount/dismount the damage would also suck -because sairs NEED to freeze when killing 2hko turns into 3hko and so on -ships cant climb ropes, and have 80% speed. its like its stuck in 1 place -bm > sair w.o bullseye which would = training -torp3do cant track, shoots in a straight line. -sairs have no party skills and sucks @ bosses like zak / ht because of the constant damage. |

| dicari11 said: " Torpedo, Air Strike" He was talking second job, lul. Anywho, ship isn't really much of a disadvantage. Figure in that you can dismount right before an attack (and most, if not all bosses give huge warning signs before they attack), and that they fixed battleship so that it has the same cooldown for every level, and you've got a nice little safety net. More or less, it's the same as a Bucc utilizing invincibility frames. As for the HP issue, my Corsair has 3,699 HP with a 300 HP MoN and an 80 HP Zhelm (and it's not HP washed, either). Not a huge gap in HP when compared to the other ranged classes. |
