The reason why I can't eat beef :O

Well I'm pretty tired, actually really tired, but I've been procrastinating all day and I have math work to do, but only 4 more pages :p So I guess I'll tell a story (which is true). When I was a baby, in hong kong, I was really whiny (which has nothing to do with the story). I went to a temple to pray with my family, and a buddhist monk saw me and approached my family and told us that I will have bad luck in my life, and in order to remove the curse, I had to devote myself to Buddhism. My mom decided to do it with me, and from then on, I was not allowed to eat beef, but my brother and my dad could. So for 14 years I have watched my bro and my dad eat abnormal consumptions of steak and all that goodness in front of my very eyes. It was only till I was 12, they told me this story. Lol. well that's that, dumb story. But it's a pretty sad reason as to why I can't eat beef >.<. btw this is all true, not making this up. Edits: I'm more devout than most other buddhists so I can't eat beef, there are different levels I guess. I know most buddhist are allowed to. Thanks to I'm more healthy (which i commented on a lot in this thread), so I'm NOT unhappy that I can't eat beef, I'm fine with it. I CAN EAT OTHER TYPES OF MEAT, JUST NOT BEEF. Just to get the cleared away cuz you all think im vegetarian...

I ate it about three times, but they're all small bites. One was curosity, two was an accident because I ordered a beef dish on accident (the restaurant was arabian and no descriptions on food, lolol). Then my mom forced me to pray to buddah for forgiveness...o.o It's not that good, but steaks look pretty good, heh. But I couldn't live with that guilt.

Pigs have lives, Plants have lives, Tomatoes have lives... if you refuse to eat it because you don't wish to kill it, then you might as well eat rocks. Tell yourself that there's no guilt! Also, if you don't believe in Buddhism, tell your parents. If you do, tell them that you don't want to follow every tiny rule! (My Grandparents are Buddhists and they eat everything)... Or... you can wait till you're 18, out of the house, and then go to a steak house. :3 My parents say that if I don't follow their rules, "god" would smite me with lightening... judging by that, I should be dead... about 100 times over. xD Moral? Not everything is true, not everything will happen. I can give examples from every religion for that. So disobey your parents once and EAT A STEAK!

To Inferno: Well you have to respect everyones religions and their rules. Not everyone is an athiest. I'm not complaining, I just wanted to share why I can't eat it. I have tried once to sneak bites of it, but I couldn't help but feel bad cuz my mom would get angry, she's not allowed to eat beef either. Anyway i'm fine with not eating beef at all, don't worry about it. To lomburry: thanks, yeah i think it's been worth it, i dont regret it at all, since its like a permenant diet, thanks to it im a lot more healthy To rhythemic: Actually its normal, theres bad luck and good luck. But sometimes when I think it's going to be really bad, something good happens to save me.Seems like something good only happens when something bad is already happening...o.o
