Anyone know what type of batteries electric bass guitars use? Either 9v or 18v? Because I KNEW the amp and the cord were working fine, but it looks like my bass's batteries died. I knew I shouldn't have left it plugged in. Now I know the meaning of "active electronics".

No. My bass has and active 2-band EQ, therefore it needs batteries to run. I see a little cover on the back of my bass too, it HAS to be for something.

since when do bass's have batteries. that little cover like u said u see isnt for batteries. my electric guitar has one too but its not for batteries. it HAS to be the amp or the cord, im so happy i got the Roland Micro Cube amp cuz since its portable it can run on either batteries or an electrical outlet.
