Is Double Shot REALLY better than Arrow Blow?

Thread title. For the longest while, I've been told that Double Shot is better merely because you get two chances to get critical, rather one. There is a higher chance of 1/2 happening, than 1/1. Now then. With Double Shot, you need to get Critical twice to get max, or close to max damage. With Arrow Blow, you only need one Critical. There's a better chance of getting 1, then there is of getting 2. Critical aside, they both do 280% damage (140% for each one of the DS arrows, 280% for the AB arrow), and AB only uses 1 arrow, whereas DS uses 2 (doesn't matter with Soul Arrow) So, is DS better, is AB better, or are they equal? PS: Being new to this section, I am unsure if this subject is covered in one of the stickied threads. Sorry if I'm bringing up a subject that as been discussed and answered several times before.

im not sure if this is correct but i remember arrow blow at lvl 19 was glitched and had 290%(again im not sure if thats the correct percentage)

I belive the thing is that, critical shot isnt 2x the damage, but it actually is 100% more to damage so Arrow blow = 260%+100%=360% Double shot = (140%+100%)x2 = 480% Correct me if im wrong =/

The skill description when maxed is "40% success rate, critical damage 200%" It could work as 100% more damage, or double. If it's double, AB and DS would be equal. If not, DS would win if you got crit twice. Which has only a 16% chance of happening.

I went AB all the way to 70, amusingly enough. Anyways the reasoning the OP is using is: Sure, AB and DS have the max damages stated above: 360% and 480%. However much more commonly DS will be doing only one crit, which makes it 140% + 140% + 100% = 380%. 380% is still greater than AB's 360%, which makes one arrow crit on average slightly better than AB on a crit. Will 20% matter much pre-70 in things you'll be training on? Probably not. Does it make them equal? I dunno. I liked AB because I liked training on things like spirit vikings and master death teddies when I was 65. Knockback helps. Would the damage be more beneficial in the long run? I dunno.

If anything , AB will hold the advantage of a KB. Otherwise, double shot does more damage. Look at one of the stickied bowman threads for the math.

It is confirmed that Critical Shot is +100%, not 2x dmg. So lets say you shoot 2 double shots. That means since u have around 1 crit each double shot u get 140% + 140% + 140% + 140% + 100% + 100% = 760% If u shoot 2 Arrow blow u will likely get 1 crit 280% + 280% + 100% = 660% Yea my math sucks its not perfect since crit rate is 40% but still

double shot is better damage-wise Arrow Blow is better for knockback cuz ur hitting them once with a stronger hit while double shot is 2 weaker hits

If you hit only 1 crit with DS and 1 crit with AB too, they're equal: DS: (2*130)+(1*100)=360% dmg AB: 260+100=360% dmg. But if you have the glitched lvl19 AB it'd be: 289+100=389, so AB is slighly better. Though the average of DS is better: DS: (2*130)+(2*0.4*100)=340% The 2*0.4*100 means 2 times the chance to crit which is 40%. AB: 289+(0.4*100)=329%

even without critical double shot is better. dont make the same mistake as i did with my hunter. really weak
