My Pierce First Test Build

So I was nearing level 13X, and I was slowly approaching my goal of 19 SE. Then I'm thinking, "What should I pick next?" First off, Many bowmen would say Marksman Boost, which I was planning to do. There was also the snipe first build, but it was mostly encouraged for bossing, and I'm not much of a bosser. Finally, my last choice was leveling Pierce to 21. Pierce was so tempting with it's recent 1 second charge buff, so I decided on that then. Marksman boost was a bore to me. My Current Build: (level 131) 19 Sharp Eyes 13 Piercing Arrow 1 Marksman Boost 1 Frostprey 1 Dragon Breath 1 Snipe Now at this point with Pierce at a high enough level to out-dps Iron Arrow and hit 5 monsters, this was the time to test out % per hour using Pierce as a primary weapon. So I went to the 2 places best suited for Piece: Skelegons and Himes. Note that this is with the EXPlosion curve. Not like I can't disable it for testing or anything. Skelegons (Solo) Unfortunately, I was too lazy to find a priest suited to accompany me, so I decided soloing. It Resulted in a 8% per hour, which I find great for soloing. I've gotten 7.5% per hour but I was doing Agent O's quest as well. Himes I actually wasn't planning on testing himes, but my wife asked me to train with her priest. So I went along. Then I was surprised to see the results here: 11-12% per Hour, Average of 1% per 5 minutes. With max HS. Priest lured all the himes to the left side then I used Pierce to kill them all. Conclusion Who said Pierce first sucked?

my decition to go pierce first was owning himes, lol seeing 26-27k's there with lvl 1 pierce, lvl 6 SE and no MMB bowed my jaw you now reinforced my idea

Strafe is important too, and you want to make sure you don't go insane from re-casting." i'm actually following a smiliar build, lol 6 SE 1 pierce 1 snipe 1 frostprey will get 1 DB next lvl ,and pump SE to lvl 20 (30, if my SE30 works) then do a mixup with 1 MMB 2 pierce

MMB a bore? Dude you'll love the 90% mastery and attack boost, I can hit over 130k with pierce (no mw) MMB is a must. Stable damage is <3

Yes I know that but I was just saying why would it be a bore..it helps alot. All you new marksmans are lucky with the updates so you can have an early snipe/pierce build I ONLY just maxed pierce. I went max SE -> max boost -> about 15 snipe when the updates came in -> max snipe -> and now max pierce. And i didn't mean to go MMB first.

You're quite late.... I got lvl21 Pierce by lvl128. My other marksman had it maxed by 137, which was bout 6months ago so no 1sec charge Pierce. I got 8% an hour with it at lvl145, so imagine now with 1sec charge. At Cazaric: I hit 143k SSed(!) so i can look it up if you like, at lvl13x with UNMAXED Pierce, lvl 6 SE, lvl1 MMB, 1 or no lvl1 MW (depends if it was on or not, prob not but won't change much). EDIT: I was wrong, it was only 141951 .

You should try the mobs at Time Temple

naruto1233 said: "You should try the mobs at Time Temple" Too little HP. A hit from Skeles with +Attack leaves me with about 200 or so HP, so I barely survive skeles. Time Temple can hit up to 4k and I don't have 4k HP.

Aren't those only the chief guardians of oblivion? I heard that the qualm guardians provided good exp too, and they shouldn't be able to 1 hit you.

Aya, I get that same experience at Newties with Snipe first.
