A few suggestions to improve basil.

well, i have liked a lot the BasilID function where it tracks or latest visited threads, however, i think it would be better if these 3 changes were implemented: To add a "new comments" option, that let's us see without clicking, that new comments have been said after the last one we saw, or at least the last one we posted. based directly from my last post, everytime we post in a thread, it gets added, however, multiple copies are made, i currently have 4 topics repeated 3 times (or so), it would be better to have just one, don't you think? and last, also based on the first one, is a "go to last seen post" button, let's say i post in a topic in page 6, i wait a week, and now the topic has 34 pages,where was it that i left? this could serve as to not lose time by trying to remember when and where was our last post. comments?

im loving the 3rd option. i feel the same way. dont understand #2 #1, if there was a new comment, a new name would be next to the thread.

i really love your 3rd option for i have that problem alot...im always getting lost on what page my last comment was. Id think the thread died out and come back half a day later to seeit increase by 3 pages or so and would like to check up from my last comment but yea......

Here's another suggestion: less aggressive suspending for "trolling" (specifically, reformation for rule 7). Saying anything taboo is obviously going to get flames. Since like half of the debates here are on religion/homosexuality/other politicized issues, anyone who asserts his/her controversial opinion strongly can be considered a "troll". Make the rules more clear; they are very, very vague and subject to individual interpretation. Many people are annoyed by this. There is a very fine line between indifferent, intellectual thought and "trolling". Last suggestion: bring back javascipt quoting (to enable multiple quotes). It's a pain in the ass to have to manually type the rest of the quotes.
