OK, well I live in the US, but I'm going abroad to visit my relatives for a longgg while, and half the time I'll be lounging around doing nothing. gMS is blocked overseas, of course, so I looked for methods to bypass the block. Well, I came across this (taken directly from SW forums): "First download AOL from this site, European clients didn't work for me. link "Method C: This method was recommended by Bakuryu, walkthrough written by Himako Foreword by me: DO THIS BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD! Sign-up for an aol e-mail account. Let's say your new e-mail is thisthing AT NOSPAM aol.com When you get up to the last stage, your screen name is thisthing Don't sign up using the AOL software. They will ask you about billing etc. /end foreword --------------------------------------------------------------------- This is is short explaination on how to make a "Home Network under location" part when useing aol 9.0VR or later. 1. On the AOL Sign On screen, click the Connect Options button. 2. Click the Advanced Broadband Settings link. 3. Click the Continue button. 4. Click the Add a Broadband profile link. (Its in the top left corner of the Broadband tab you have to click on the drop-down menu that will be just under the sentence You are currently editing settings for. 5. In the Profile Name: box, type "Mabinogi" or something like it so you remeber what profile this is, then click the Add button. 6. Abit further down you have the Connection Type click on the drop-down menu to open it, then select "Home Network" option by clicking it. 7. Click the Save button. 8. Now when you are back at the Sign on screen you just have to change the Connection: drop-down menu to your profile "Mabinogi" Now all you have to do is logon to your aol account and you will have a american ip to run mabinogi with ." Well, it was actually a guide on running Mabinogi abroad, but I tried it for Maple, and it worked fine. However, there is intense lag. Maple is quite boring if lag makes you unable to do much. So, I'm wondering, is there anyway to get rid of this lag? Thanks in advance! And sorry if this breaks any rules, I don't see what I'm doing that's wrong.

Well, of course it's going to lag bad. But if Mabinogi works fine without lag, then its because the MS servers dont respond well over seas.

Hey! I want to play GMS on my laptop too and I'm here in Korea! Same here, half the time I'm just lounging around doing nothing so yeah... Does this really work? EDIT: Concerning your lag problem, there are a lot of programs online you can find where you can clear your registry, quarantine viruses that will affect computer speed, and other things. Google it.

I already knew this but I didnt post... Why did you post it. If everybody gets to know about it, there's more chance for getting patched.

L1chenDoes this work with Vista? Mine doesn't start installing. . .
Darkknight316 07/02/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
The problem isn't with my account. In Asia, you can't even OPEN gMS; you just get a server check error. Also, this was already posted on SW anyway; I just reposted it so people know what I'm talking about. @Green4Ever: The next 3 weeks are visiting weeks. This week, all of us are lounging indoors watching TV that I can't even understand, so yes, I seriously have nothing better to do.

If I don't want to have any AOL software on my computer, can I install it on a USB memory and run it form there, without having any AOL stuff on the computer?

how stupid can you people get Global Maple Story, meaning for the whole world unless you have a localized version jeez. Anyone in any country that does not have their own version can play GMS, dont ask such a stupid question.

Wow don't flame until you know what you're talking about. Didn't I say I was in asia? I do have a local version, but I'd rather play gMS. Also, Bebben, I can't answer your question cuz I'm not a tech person, I just followed a tutorial X_x
