Recommend this anime veteran some anime!

I've seen a lot of anime. Probably more than the great majority of people posting in this thread. However, I'm in the mood for some romantic anime. The problem is that I think I've spoiled by the last few shows I've watched. In order, I watched REC, Bokura Ga Ita, Honey and Clover, and Paradise Kiss. I just tried to start Sola, but it seemed so generic and boring. Anyone got some stellar anime to recommend that have some romance to them. I'd prefer slice of life or romantic comedy, but I'm open to anything with romance in it. However, I've watched or checked out pretty much everything 7/10 or better. I'm looking for some lesser known anime that I might have overlooked. For instance, Bokura Ga Ita does romance better than any other series I've ever seen. The characters and relationships are so real; I see a bit of myself and those around me in the show so much. However, I'd never heard of it until someone recommended it to me. @BakaNakama: Ooo, I saw that when checking out Makoto Shinkai. Forgot about it. Thanks.

Oh and as stated above, 5 centimeters per second; holds the title of my favourite.

I said I was an anime veteran. That means I've seen a lot, not that I'm somehow more knowledgeable about them than someone else. @Shauny: Eureka 7 and a few others of those are on my list. I've seen Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, but I missed a few episodes, so I don't include them in the list. The fact that you included Queen's Blade scares me.
