You know how when a trainer throws one and a Pokemon comes out? Well, where does the ball go? I never see the trainer go pick it up. O: Also, can anyone give me some tips to beating Brock in Red version? His Onyx ALWAYS kills my Charmander

It returns to their hands. Some trainers don't even throw their balls. ^^

"The mechanics inside were none too simple. Tiny devices whirred and rolled inside perpetually, waiting to receive. In the center of the inside bottom half was a transparent red plastic sheath, overlaying a large lens that was currently inactive." That doesn't explain their disappearance, but I think I got the mechanics summarized pretty basically.

to beat brock in red version, go catch like rattata and train it to beat him, and catch a pikachu to beat misty later or just just rattata. My solution: train chamander to lvl 20+ before going(thats wat i did, few simple potions and scatch kills it)
