Watch out, here comes a wall of text. This has got to be my hardest decision of my Maplestory career. I'm in this huge dilemma with my favorite Melee classes. I know some people might say, just look and see which one suits you and watch videos and whatnot, even flip coins but I do not want to do any of that stuff. Watching videos just still kept me unbalanced about which class I wanted to look deeper into. It's been quite over a year since I've last hit third job. The only character I was able to get past through it was my Priest, and twice. 2 Priests, the first ones a bit messed so I had to redo it but I ended up quitting it as it was sort of boring and I blew up a lot of my goods. I moved to Windia when Pirates were released , I made a Brawler but eventually at level 43 I stopped and deleted it for some odd reason. I remade one couple months after but I stopped it again this time during levels 3x. See, there is this thing about me, which I extremely hate... I just can't make up my mind and I keep jumping from class to class in search of the class which I will one day pass level 70 but that hasn't happened yet. As a result, I have possibly every second job class and most of them retire during their 40's. What seems to drag me in are the Melee classes. They are pretty powerful and awesome. Their skills are flashy and nice :3 Many of you might have seen a lot of my threads regarding [x] class vs [y] class. This sort of breaks everything down to me and narrows my choices down which left Dark Knights and Paladins and I am still SOMEWHAT lost about which one would benefit me more but I am sort of leaning towards the Paladin class as I love their elemental charges and stuff. So, what I have asked you all today is between the following three Melee classes which come to my attention; Paladins, Shadowers and Buccaneers. Shadowers and Buccaneers are similar in a way but many find Bucs to be their cup of tea compared to a Shadower. I must say, they both excel in two different things, one has extreme speed and are very great at training and one has a billion variety of skills as to its gameplay. Paladins are sort of different in this one as they are nothing alike compared to those two. Some of you might say I might not even make it to fourth job, I myself say the same thing considering I am an unbalanced person but with constant grinding and if I seem to find the class easy to level I could make it, just I won't expect it anytime soon. See, I know this game isn't all about damage but after playing this game for well over 3 years, I like to see big numbers now. First thing, many might say Shadowers are not meant for that as seen in the "Get real CBs" thread but I love Shadowers and their playing style. I just want the class that will suit me and I hope to never give up on, hopefully or not until I get to my goal of passing level 70. There is a drawback of making a Marauder though, I don't like how they have to wait till after their 80's to get their main ski

Brawler is really fun. Like Origamidude said we have legit godmode, and we get it in 2nd job even! (you have to get a hang on the skills) We also have like 10 different attacks, and we use just about all of them, because they all pretty much have a downtime, so we have to switch. It isn't like other classes where they ditch the old skill when a new one comes a long. We are also the only melee class with our own critical, so we get to see pretty purple numbers. And like half our attacks stun, so cool beans there. I have tried making a bandit, and a page, and brawler just pulls me in more (semirange is awsome)

Well, my honest suggestion is this: Make all 3, every 10 levels you get with one, you have to level the others 10 times. If you get bored of them, the class isn't for you.

Ive temporarily quit my sin and am playing a bucc-in-progress, my lvl 26 pirate. Even 1st job has been fun having great mobbing ability since lvl 11. 2nd job looks really fun, 3rd good depending how you look at it and one of the most fun looking 4th jobs. Im curious to see how far I can get before it gets boring and i dont think that will be very soon. Shads and pallys are awesome too, I myself made a long thought out decision between the three and eventually chose bucc.

bucs are fun but not that great in early levels. after like 5X they get easier to train because the damage goes from ~wimpy wimpy wimpy~ to <HEFTY HEFTY HEATY> so you can actually train without burning loads of pots. but imo, Corsair's are the funnest pirate class. something about recoil+fly feets makes me happy. o__o

Ok fine here is my [very brief] summary. Why I chose buccaneer: -Great mobbing skills at low lvls, therefore easy lvling. -Decent HP and MP. -Time Leap and SI allow me to join ht/zakum and cwk at low lvls and get good splits. -Good 1v1 damage, very close to hero's [especially if demo is maxed]. -Invincibility frame saves TONS of pots and increases dmg, since it make my attack non-stop. -Due to decent hp and good 1v1/mobbing skills and invi frame, I was able to solo bf at 121 (40 mins, 15 mins at lvl 138 NO APPLES) and solo bottom skeles at 129. -Flashy Skills. -Relatively cheap equipment.

icec0ldkila said: "I'll post what my expereince was like as a paladin. I posted this in somebody else's thread about paladin vs dark knight. As I was once a page, I only had the dream of becoming a white knight, this was back when there wasn't a 4th job. The elemental skills attracted me like no other class before, for i did not like mages due to low hp, but i did like the idea of doing elemental damage and being able to freeze monsters. So eventually, after long days of ludi pqing, and longer days of training, I became a White Knight. I was proud to be one, for at that time, the class was not that popular, and you didn't see to many, and a lot of people would fame you because they knew you were the underdog, and a lot of people liked that. So i slapped my first point into fire and went to kappas. Some say the first point is disappointing due to how little it does add damage, but i found it exhilirating. It made me feel like a white knight. I knew that I would surpass my hermit, and be the best blunt weapon white knight i could. I then put a point in charge blow, and realized that it seemed that the 34% stun rate, was a complete and utter lie, or so it seemed. After i maxed fire i had the luxury of going to train at dual ghost pirates, one that were weak to fire. I got my morningstar, and hit my first 11k. I was so happy, and loved the little flare that the morningstar emitted once on fire. So i traveled through my career, and got charged blow, then ice. I loved charged blow. It helped so much, and i'm so glad that in 4th job, that it became our main attacking skill. A 3 second stun that is un-interuptable? Thats spammable? Pure brilliance if you ask me, thats defensive, while doing a lot of damage. However i trained for hours and hours, and people wondered why? Why was i training a paladin? Why didn't i become a crusader? or a dk? Why? Because i knew white knights were for me. So i pressed on, even through the dreaded hell phase, getting only 7% an hour at level 119. But when i finally became a paladin, it was a great day. All my efforts, were paid off for the simple title of paladin. I got rush, and as being a guide writer, wasted a point in monster magnet to see if it had any use at level 1. It did not. Then i got heavens hammer, commonly known to others as "The Banhammer". It took me 11 months to get my acb, but i finally did it, and so here i am today. Rushing monsters into place, and spamming acb to kill them all. A great experience. A great character. A great class. However, i have made a level 76 buccaneer as well, and they are also a great class. They are fun, and you get a lot of useful skills that you use in different situations. But overall, I still say paladin." You just inspired me to make a Page dude o.o *Pressing Paladin on the poll*

[Assuming you put them up at 120] Congrats on bucc Asante! |

I'm just like you. I quit my dexless sin for a hunter because although I am quite funded the thief equips would kill me in the end. I can be using that saved money on godly archer equips. Anyways try all classes on a Pizza Slice and see which job you like best. I have tried all melee classes and if you care about damage I would go Paladin or Bucc. When I was a shadower I couldn't do nearly as high damage as the other 2 classes. But w/e you thinkis fun I guess
