 | 2sin(2x) = tan(x) 2sin(2x) = sin(x)/cos(x) 2sin(2x)cos(x) = sin(x) (2sin(2x)cos(x))/sin(x) = 1 (2sin(2x)cos(x))/sin(x) = sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) Maybe that's a starting point. See where you can go from there. |

| 2sin2x = tan x We know that sin2x = 2sinxcosx Thus: 2(2sinxcosx) = tanx 4sinxcosx = tanx We know that tanx = sinx / cosx. 4sinxcosx = sinx / cosx Divide both sides by sinx. 4cosx = 1/cosx Multiply both sides by cosx. 4cos squared x = 1 Let cosx = a. 4a^2 = 1 a^2 = 1/4 a = 1/2 or -1/2 cosx = 1/2 or -1/2 You can do the rest (use special triangle with sides 1, 2, and square root 3). |
