I think 1st job: xbow 2nd job: xbow 3rd job: almost the same but I think xbow is a bit better 4th job: xbow with mediocore equips, BM with good equips. (because snipe hits 195k every 5 seconds even if you're using a lvl 12 xbow)<- I calculated this for 4th job.

No. mashavsapir said: "1st job=xbows 2nd job=bows on mobs, xbows on single monsters 3rd job= same damage on mobs, xbows on single monsters 4th job= bows on single monsters, xbows on mobs" Close. 1st Job - Does it really matter? 2nd Job - Bows pull out higher DPS on mobs. Assuming Fast (5) speed weapons are used, then Bows win in DPS too. Since 2nd job has most of the (5) speed weapons, this is relevant. Xbows pull out higher DPH, which allows them to 1-2hko stronger monsters, Bows fire more often which allows them to kill more quantities of weaker monsters, aya. 3rd Job - Bows have a mobbing advantage when using Arrow Bomb still. Of course, using Arrow Rain/Eruption there's no difference. Crossbows mostly have the advantage of Blizzard, allowing them to train while using less potions, although use of Blizzard lowers DPS slightly. 4th Job - Here's where the main difference is. Theoretical DPS, Marksmen win all around. That's just theoretical though, which would require 0 lag and robots. Truth be told, Snipe's cooldown ranges from 5-7 seconds depending on lag, during which Bowmasters are pulling out solid definitive hits. Marksmen really shine on mobs with Pierce, though their single target DPS isn't something to be scoffed at, aya.

horahk said: "Yeah, it's dmg per Hour. This might not sound useful to know but it i think this might be useful to know for bossing." It's damage per hit. Kevvl put it in the right order, although when pierce 1hkos it's amazing on maps with large mobs.

Damage per hour, if you're going on large bosses the difference will be more noticable for DPM or DPH In damage per shot, DPS, marksman win because snipe does a 199k damage, and the highest hit with hurricane I've seen that is on kms was around 30k of damage. Remember, this is damage per shot, which is one arrow, or shot. Sure the Bowmaster could use strafe, because one strafe shot = 4 arrows, and that is most likely going to be around 20k per arrow, if all crit, but that only equates to around ~ 60-100k damage. This is just using rough numbers. In DPS, with The marksman using Snipe/strafe combo, and the bowmaster using hurricane, and they are about the same level, and they have the same equips, (except for bows and crossbows, where standard crossbows tend to be +3 - 5 wpn attack greater than bows) the bowmaster is more likely to win. The damage per hour or minute becomes exceptionally noticeable when apples are used in both classes. For more info, and actual numbers, read the stickies.

KooMiggo said: " Could you explain 3rd job a bit more?" On mobs, ae>ar because xbows and bows have the same speed but xbows do more damage. However, arrow bomb is often used as a mob skill and it's stronger than iron arrow+it stuns (yes, it's possible to stun with blizzard but it will ruin the damage over time). On a single monster, strafe has the same damage for both jobs and the same speed but xbows do more damage.

kevvl14 said: "2nd Job - Bows pull out higher DPS on mobs." Note that this only works when a hunter faces packed mobs of 4+ all the time. It might have to be: ''Bows have the potential to pull out higher DPS on mobs.'' Because of Iron Arrows range, which reaches to the end of the screen it's way easier to pull out alot dmg with IA than with the annoyingly small blast-radius. ksazn said: "Damage per hour, if you're going on large bosses the difference will be more noticable for DPM or DPH In damage per shot, DPS, marksman win because snipe does a 199k damage, and the highest hit with hurricane I've seen that is on kms was around 30k of damage. So when both are maxed a crit of 30k max with hurricane results in a 30k crit per arrow max with strafe. @above: It's 5seconds, and they actually changed the descriptions saying 5now, while at the 10sec cooldown period it still said 15 .

Being that we're human, and assuming that the same person is playing both characters, the Marksman would still probably kill it faster.

I meant to say 20k per arrow, stupid ipod D: but it's still very rare to hit straight 20k x 4 arrows

I have yet to meet a MM who can beat my anego time ;D BM's do more overall dmg, but MM's got closer once dmg cap was raised and cooldown lowered because their snipe is now hitting 200k every 5 seconds, but BM's still push out greater dmg over a larger period of time. I believe that if a MM maxed snipe first they would widley outdmg BM's at lvl 130, but as both approach 200, BM's hurricane keeps increasing in dmg, while MM's snipe remains at 200k (MM's Strafe does more dmg too, but its a much slower atk).
