Is it possible to put in a maximum bid?

I have never heard of a bidding system that does not allow you to put in your highest bid, so that it will not increase until someone outbids the the current bid. does this site have a way to put in a max bid, like many other sites, ebay namely? If not, why?

Ummmmmm couldn't you just put a bid that is your highest amount pay and just wait? O.o It doesn't automatically go up. O.o

Well there is a price that automatically wins the auctions. I don't think new users can automatically win an item though.

The auction system is poorly developed in some places. That is one of them.

so it does not automatically go up when you put in your max bid? I will give you an example because I worded it wrong, say the minimum bid on an item is 800,000 but you wish to put a maximum bid of 1,200,000, would the bid be at 1,200,000 or 900,000?

There is no auto bidding as far as I know whatsoever.

Auto win just ends the auction when the price that the person selling the item has set is reached. What the OP is asking about is auto bidding, where the system automatically bids on your behalf up to a limit you set.

Auto-bidding wouldn't be a bad idea o.o And if you want, you can set a "maximum auto-bid" on an item. So for example, you will always be 1k ahead of the highest bidder until about 100k, then the auto-bid turns off. :D
