Okay, I'm either making a LUKless I/L or F/P and I want to 1v1 train with the one I choose. The problem is, I have no idea which one is more efficient to 1v1 train with, I know that F/P have higher single target damage but I/L can freeze, thus reducing damage taken. So can I please have someone explain to me which would be a better choice. NOTE: I am only talking about second job and I have played both characters before and enjoyed them both, I am now wondering which will be a more efficient 1v1 trainer. Thanks for your time

Just go with F/P for 1v1. Ice mages need lightning cause the training is much faster. Thing is, for all mage class jobs in 3rd, it's ALL mobbing unless you want to get comp/thunder spear. Ice strike, shining ray, poison mist/explosion, they're all meant for basically mobbing. But since you do only plan on 2nd, I really do suggest a fire mage. Fire mages will level faster but probably spend a little bit more on pots than an icemage. The meso difference is negligible imo.

If you don't plan going higher than 2nd job, make an F/P. Also, the difference of mesos spent on pots is very big...Mist training as an F/P eats a LOT of pots.

Thankyou, I do plan on attempting third job, but I've been known to quit mid 50's :P.

Lol Obviously f/p b/c of increased dmg But the problem is that most f/p quit around 50s or 60s BECAUSE of the single target thing. And it gets really boring =/ I think you might change your view about the whole 1v1 thing after a bit =X Gl either way you choose though :D

More efficient 1 vs. 1? F/P. You wouldn't wanna train 1 vs. 1, though. You'd want to use Lighting on I/L's or PB on F/P's.
