Healthcare reform in US

So, are you guys for or against the healthcare reform? It's going to cost billions or even trillions. This is how he plans on paying for it. Obama said he's already identified "hundreds of billions of dollars" worth of savings in the federal budget that could help finance health care reform, such as rooting out waste, fraud and abuse in Medicare and Medicaid. He's also proposed reducing tax deductions for high-income Americans.

From what I've learnt it's because of all that rosey talk that the government is feeding us that's preventing us from accepting change...lies after lies after lies and now no one believes anything anymore. I think with all the layoffs, you'd think more people would be for this. ....but it's basil..kids won't understand this issue.

Hmm... I get how it takes money to make money... but we already have a multi-trillion dollar debt... hmnn..... how much money does it take to make some anyways? What me need is a matter cloning machine so we can clone by TV and my computer and iPod, maybe some gold too?

The cost of health care has risen 70% since past couple years, so this universal health care system will actually be a lot cheaper. The main concern on the people who actualyl have the grasp of this issue is that the quality of the new system provided will be lower, and under the new system, it'll likely have less coverage then their current system..they can always have the choice of opting for paying for a private insurance company, but they'd be paying obligatory taxes out of their pocket either way. It's not about the debts and the financial crisis and whatnots, it's about microeconomics. People and their OWN needs.

After all, the american economy relies on the constant flow of wealth. Higher taxes may be damaging. And if i were barack obama, i would try to fix the national debt before doing any of this. If you look at canada's healthcare system, it has some of the longest waiting periods. It's underfunded, and to fund something properly, you need a massive amount of money. I think universal healthcare should wait after this debt crisis is over.
