file corrupted

When i tried to download the new patch, it got to items and said item.wz has been corrupted or something like that and if it appears more than once please reinstall maplestory, or something along those lines ive literally tried downloading the patcher 7 times and in the last 4 tries, it says that the Data1.cab is now also corrupted and cannot be used any ideas? oh yea and no this is not happening because i was using hacks and editing files, i know you people are there that will accuse me but im using files from around version 0.2x (i.c. ms for since before 2nd anniversary) which i think is why some of my files are corrupted

The only answer is to completely delete MS off your computer and redownload it from scratch.

Open "My Computer," right click on your primary hard drive, select properties, go to the tools tab, click 'check now,' check all the checkboxes, click ok, follow all prompts to the t (if it tells you to restart, do it). If there's some sort of recoverable error on the hard disk, this program might be able to fix it. If it can't, you might want to start looking into a replacement hard drive in case this one shows continual signs of breakdown.

I reckon at least 50% of the maple popularity gets it; mine gets stuck on Maplestory.exe on one computer, and the other well... I've got too much steam to try

yeah, happens sometimes. Last patch mine wouldn't patch base.wz, so I just deleted many of my maplestory files and reinstalled.
