PvP system in Maplestory

| Please read before posting. It may be long, but it will get you better informed of my proposition. All credits go to me Maplestory in General view Maplestory is a 2d free massive online game that has a very large community. It has a Party Quest system, in which they add Party Quests (PQ) every so often. Most of the game consists of grinding form of leveling, which gets boring after a while. But the system is fairly good. They have a Cash Shop that sells clothes that overlap others using NX, which requires real money to purchase. No PvP system however. Why no PvP? Maplestory's 2d system makes limited movement to evade attacks, therefore PvP is just testing power against others and not using real PvP skills. Along with that, the overpowered attacks that classes have implemented makes the competition just too easy for one another. Therefore, the Pvp system CANNOT work this way. And to add, mages/archers/sins/slingers also have ranged damage against melee and close range fighting, so it would be extremely unfair for the melee classes. A possible solution? PVP Arena, similar to AriantPQ. (req. Level 20 and above) To PvP, you must challenge a person within a 5 level margin unless he/she is on their next job. What I mean is that if someone is level 30, they can challenge anyone at level 25-35 if they are at their first job. If they do the job advancement, their margin becomes 30-35 second jobbers only. In PvP, there can be NO BUFFS other than 1 priority buff skill, in which you drag to a little box in the waiting room to show everyone what skill you will use. This doesnt include attacking skills. This means that if you want Magic guard as a mage, you can place on the little box. You can't use heal, drain (i'll edit this part as soon as I look at the skills again lmao.) because that will be unfair to the other PvPers. You cannot place teleport, recoil, haste, or flash jump. In PvP, you cannot use attacking skills (unless your a mage, in which you can use magic claw/energy bolt) other than the following skills (which I propose as the solving measure in the problems of Pvp): -Counter (In the first slot in skills) : When someone attacks, theres a (30% at lv1/50% at lv2/70% at lv3) that it will miss, and returns a 130% attack at a success rate of (10% at lv1/25% at lv2/40% at lv3) and jumps back to evade the other attack. How to get Counter: You cannot add points into Counter until you accept the PvP quest, which it automatically adds a point every 20(needs to be looked into.) levels. Note: accuracy and avoidability does not affect the chances. -Block (same as above) : When someone attacks, theres a (30% at lv1/65% at lv2/95% at lv3) that it will miss, and there is a (10% at lv1/40% at lv2/90% at lv3) that it will miss again so you won't need to spam hit the Block button. Works with all classes against all classes. How to get Block: Same as above. Note: accuracy and avoidability does not affect the chances. -Block Blow (same as above) : When you Block, you h |

 | I think it's a good idea, but, even with the addition of PvP skills, many classes will still be at a disadvantage. For example, some classes (clerics and priests) were meant for support, while some were meant for speed, while others were meant for pure damage. If the PvP arena could be separated into a place for different classes, it would be a lot more fair. |

If clerics were meant for support, theres always the buff they can use like Bless or Invincible, or higher lvled skills. completly forgot the pots part, THERE IS NO POTS USAGE inside the PVP. Please read the edit |

| epic, it could be a good change, but shouldnt there be ranks like cpq, and exp rates? but still i wouldn't vote on it, because of all the reason in "why no pvp", mainly 2D |

| Brawlers, Marauders, Buccaneers are the best class for ranged attacks out of the group you selected. I love the idea, and I think you should add Fame. Each battle you win you get 1 fame per win. There should be a PvP medal for winning 1000 PvP matches.. and the PvP system should be held at different cities and the cities would determine the look of the arena. Overall, your entrance to PvP is spectacular but I still believe it's in somewhat form of "Beta" or "Unfinished; Not done" There still needs more to be added and releasing a thread of something so big which is conspicuously seen as incomplete creates bad feedback, or flame. Next time add more time to this before releasing it. (Make sure it's bigger than all other PvP Threads) Anyway, Ghost Online has an excellent PvP system, but sins unfortunately, defeat warriors in the battles. |

Wait, how are brawlers the best for ranged attacks? I'm a Marauder, and the closest I have to a "ranged attack" is...Corkscrew Blow, or Shockwave. xP Haha, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the best for ranged attacks would be sins. |
