I'm done creating a method that allows the site to load in Opera without disabling javascript. You can get it here . I'll make a version for Safari and Firefox later. The FAQ for v.30 was extremely successful. It cut down the number of threads regarding problems with the patch and almost everyone was able to get back to playing in a short period of time. This FAQ aims to solve all problems for current and future gMS and hopefully MSEA problems, as well as issues with Gamegaurd. Please post problems here. The autopatcher doesn't work. Download the manual patch when it becomes available. If that fails, you have no choice but to reinstall the client. I can't connect to the game server. A few people ar having this problem. Please try the steps mentioned in the client problems section. If that doesn't work for you, leave the name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and try asking Mindstormer (he's better with Windows than I am). canvas.dll is corrupted. Windows Vista is still in beta and has compatibility problems with Maplestory and Gameguard. These problems will not be solved until Windows Vista is available next year. Please revert back to Windows XP. I'm using a limited user account and I have problems patching the client and fixing settings. Legacy programs, like Maplestory, don't always work properly using limited user accounts. Upgrading them to Power Users fixes that problem. I'm running windows vista RC2 (long story) and gameguard will not connect normally. If I run MS with elevated priviliedges, gameguard connects, and downloaded it's files, then when MS tried to load I got a blue screen. When I rebooted, I disabled automatic restart on system failure and changed some compatibility settings on the maplestory EXE. The game now says gameguard failed to initialize, and I haven't been able to get the blue screen anymore. Any ideas?

I'm using Windows Vista and I have problems playing the game. Windows Vista is still in beta and has compatibility problems with Maplestory and Gameguard. These problems will not be solved until Windows Vista is available next year. Please revert back to Windows XP. You have a very special case, (you got gameguard to work), and it is the only reason that I'm going to attempt to solve this. Please revert maplestory back to the way it was when you got the blue screen (elevated privileges, default compatibility) and post the error message. Even though it is windows Vista, I may be able to find clues in that message, and if I can't, Mindstormer may be able to. However, I do not have a Vista capable machine so you will have to test everything.

Stop error 0x0000010E (0x0000001E, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) This error occurred after I managed to actually get MS to open, run and work. Upon exitting the game (or alt+tabbing as I later discovered) windows gets a blue screen with that message. I myself looked it up and found a bunch of unrelated things. This error comes up when the computer is not set for compatibility mode, and has the aero glass theme disabled. At first when I tried this mode, it didn't work at all, but when I deleted the gameguard folder, GG was able to connect and redownload itself, the game then worked normally except for the quitting error. Stop Error: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, 0x85d86020, 0x0F3B8CD4, 0x00000000) I believe this to be the original error message incurred the first time. It occurs when windows is set for windows XP service pack 2 compatibility mode. This error comes up as soon as gameguard finishes connecting, and the MS.exe switches the screen resolution to begin playing the game. Any of the other compatibility modes do not work. server 2003 makes game guard "unexpectedly" stop working. 98/me same deal, never tried nt 4.0, but I doubt it would work as it wasn't listed on MS's original compatibility list. In 95 the gameguard fails to initialize entirely. Also, for the record, I'm running an nVidia GeForce FX 5500 video card. I was told by someone that if I have an nVidia card, the windows Aero� desktop theme would not work, unless I didn't install the video card drivers for the card. I'm currently running it (in vista) without the drivers, and everything else works fine. Now, I recall a while back when MS was causing nearly identical blue screen errors as the ones I'm getting now, one of the main steps taken was to update the graphics drivers. If I do that on mine it may resolve the problem, but it defeated the purpose of getting vista in the first place. Also, RC2 is not a beta version, it is a trial version designed to showcase the new OS before it is released. You can probably download it somewhere, but mine was given to me on disk by my employer, as I will be doing windows vista technical support. So, lets see what you can do with that info.

the driver for your graphics card is vista ready and you should be able to use it without problems (see link ). try installing it and then running maplestory.

I realize I might sound like an idiot by saying this, but where the hell are the driver downloads for my card on that site? XD edit: nevermind, found it. The last one of these I tried to install gave me a "no graphics" situation. here's hoping this doesn't happen here. Although that one I did it with before was a beta 2 driver and this one is an RC2 version. not that it should make much of a difference.
