Like, lets say someone commits a crime using the computer, and the FBI or w/e shows up at your door. Can't the criminal just completely erase his/her hard drive(s) since there are some programs that can erase it in seconds? To my knowledge, law enforcement officers basically get all the evidence from the actual hard drive, so ya... Discuss? o.o

ISP can track down your stuff I think.

you can leave traces always even without YOUR computer.

Yeah I guess it can, but your under the law. So most likely this has been taped and screenshotted by the FBI. It would be hard to get around.

They can probably track down your stuff or save it? Idk But i believe nothing can be erased completely. I'm assuming that the FBI would be on you like crazy or they'll find a way to get the evidence.

K then, how about programmers who have all of the memory right in here . Once the FBI leaves, he/she will simply remake it.

ISP would have records. Erasing your hard drive 100% is nearly impossible. There are recovery methods.

swipe your hard drive with a magnet, 100% full proof :D, try it yourself right now

Well, I'm pretty sure if you completely trash your hard drive or something like that, it can't be recovered >.>

PhoFTW said: " Sledgehammer." Not positive how sledgehammers work, but it still might be traceable.

LowWillpower said: " Depends on what you mean by trash." IDK, put it in water to short circuit it, run a very powerful magnet all over it, throw it down from a balcony?

No....theres MANY new technology being created each day. even if you do that, the FBI/gov will EASILY track down what you've been doing. also,ISP.and your IP. and tracking down your connection, to find your history. deleted or not
