Are Arch mages viable for bossing at all? I know they don't have many strong single foe attacks, but can anyone clerify this? And the main Arch mage i am wondering about is F/P's, but since F/P's and I/L's have basically the same attacks, i guess they would be on the same level for bossing.

They can kill small bosses like Papulatus and Pianus but when it comes to Zakum, Horntail, etc, they are pretty useless. That's not to say that you wouldn't get taken if you have the right connections, but they just don't contribute much.

Is paralyze a fire attack though? And would Paralyze be their main bossing attack?

Paralyze, I think is a Poison attack Edit: and I think it would since for I/L, its Chain Lightning.

Elquines is a summon so that is most likely not going to be a main attack. Big Bang is Neutral so Mages gain no advantage by using that on any bosses and Meteor is slow to cast and uses a huge amount of MP, most Mages will be using either Chain Lightning or Paralyze as a main attack. The only exception I can think of would be if the boss is Zakum Arms, then Mages / Bishop use their ultimate because of the sheer number of targets.

Elquines attacks too slowly and for a decent BB, you'd probably be need to be in the high 170's, well unless you maxed or put points in it first... Meteo could be used on something like Zakum's arms but people have the idea that it causes massive disconnecting lag.
