I think ninjas came before Naruto, but Naruto popularized them into modern culture.

He means that all the ninja stuff wasn't as cliche before Naruto came, while now with Naruto being popular, it is. What that means is that Naruto actually was original instead of cliche. Anyways, I don't see why you'd have to make a thread about it. Not trying to be mean, just saying it.

Do you know why they say Naruto is cliche? Because it always follows a certain chain of events, namely: Naruto wants to be leader! Olook, bad guys! Naruto fights bad guys! Naruto gets beaten to a pulp! Naruto doesn't give up! Naruto gives an epic 30 min speech on his horrid past and blahb lah blah! FLASHBACK ALERT! Naruto somehow draws on the power of the demon sealed inside him! If this is not possible, he draws on the power of FRIENDSHIP! Naruto pwns bad guys! Naruto gives thumbs up and goes on about courage and justice and friendship! It's like DBZ all over again.
