I believe its to get those medals such as the celebrity medal, where if you have 1000+ fame, it will say celebrity underneat your guild. The person who donates the most money gets that medal oops.. haha i totally read that post wrong.. *feels stupid*

Yea, it lowers the price of the magic seeds, my friend donated so much that magic seeds are only for 5k to her. x_x

Maybe, but once you get the price of the seed down to like 12k(for me) its pays off, i travel alot from Leafre to Victoria and vice-versa. Seeds saves times, i belive 12k is cheaper than like 45mins of traveling on Bird and Boat to Victoria/Leafre.
