I know that it always you to shoot up close, but is there really a difference from lvl 5 to lvl 20? Can AR/E replace MB?

There is a huge difference between level 5 and 20. It's activation rate is doubled from 45% to 90%. Whether that's worth the points is up to you, but most people do max it.

Its a must max as is AE/R.. just skip thrust or something.

Max it, when you are training at newts you'll be glad you did. And no, AR/E does not remotely replace MB, they have very different uses.

Well, with the changes Nexon made to the Arrow Bomb skill, more people are choosing to max MB than to Inferno now. As for usefulness, I had 6 MB until level 115 and managed to train fine at Newties, so I'm not sure what chuck is talking about. As far as your question about AR/E replacing MB, I would simply read the description of both AR or AE and MB. They do different things. Mortal Blow allows the archer to fire an arrow against a monster in minimum range to replace a bow swing at a certain success rate. Monsters below a certain HP limit may be killed immediately after being struck by Mortal Blow. Arrow Rain hits up to 6 monsters near the archer with no minimum range restriction. (Prerequisite: Mortal Blow, Level 5)

AR/E and MB are in complementary distribution. In places that you'd be training with AR, you don't use MB--conversly, in places without AR, MB shows its beautiful face. So there's no question of 'replacement'. edit: as above. Also, don't ever think of it as 'allowing you' to hit up close, it's a backup, and only a backup. You should never intentionally be that close to a monster...

mb+hurricane only lasts a split second..its just 2-3 quick shots and is over with and will only be activated if hurricane is already going meaning you can't just walk up to a monster in melee range and start it

It isn't absolutely needed- if that's your question. It's just the best option to put your points into since inferno is kinda useless right now.

MB is a nice skill to have, but its very well possible to live without it. I just prefer doing 20k+ rather than whacking when a monster spawns in front of me.
