How does the auction system actually work?

like when u win an auction, how does the person get the item to you and if u post an auction, how do u get there money and they get your item without any scamming and stuff?

Selling: You post an auction, players bids. If they win, they'll have their IGN (in-game name) on their BasilID and you'll have to track him down via /find and trade him in-game. Buying: You bid on an auction. If you win, then you either find them or they'll find you and you trade.

The auction system works as in steps. 1. The auction is put up and the bidder bids. 2. The auction ends and the bidders name is given to you. 3. Most of the time the bidder PM's you with a time, date and place to meet you at in Maplestory. 4. You go onto Maplestory and give the item to the person and the person gives you mesos. 5. After the trade is done you go to the person's basilmarket profile and give them a rating on their trade based on the trade. Ex. If they were nice, you give them a good rating (Green) and write a little review.

so auctions that are posted at low prices and nobody bids on it.. whats stopping the person from just cancelling because they dont like the price they will be stuck with being paid?

Usually sellers put the lowest price as the minimun values they will sell for (or use the option "What is the lowest price you will sell for?"). If this price isn't reached, the auction will finish without a winner. If you are bidding an auction such this, you can see the message "The reserve price hasn't been reached yet" (or something like that). That means if the auction finishes now, you wont win it. But answering your question, there is nothing to stop a seller of deleting an auction, with or without bidders, with or without bids above reserve price.

Let's say you win/other guy wins an auction, First, you'd want to add the user to your buddylist, PM him on basil, find a suitable timing and such. After you settled on date/time/place, meet the person at the specified location (usually fm entrance, back channels). Once there, it's pretty obvious that you just do the trade Finally, come back to basilmarket.com and leave the feedback for the user depending on how the trade went i.e. good, bad or in between. Simple as that

when i finished one of my auctions, the auction did not give me a name at the end of it. now i dont know who the winning bidder is. is there some where else i have to look?

When you win, the auction should be on your auction page. if its not there, some on proabally out bid you at the last second
