| An interview with Nexon Europe by gaming magazine GameSource, summarised: - Aqua dungeon - mini dungeons - Knights of Cygnus - 4th job Interview starts here: MapleStory is growing very well in Europe, after a global success. So we met Nexon to talk about many upcoming contents and events for players of our countries. GS: Why the choice to determinate the channel language by the client one? Many European countries have problems to chat with people from other cultures (exp. People that play with german client cant choose dutch channels) Dont you think that have the opportunity to switch in game (without need to log out and re-log) from a channel to another could improve the interaction between players from different countries? The primary idea behind this system was to enable players to chat with their fellow players in the same language without any difficulties, considering the different languages that are spoken in Europe. If players who speak different languages meet in one channel, the language difference may derive a communication barrier amongst users which we tried to avoid. However, players who want to meet people from other cultural or linguistic backgrounds can play in the Europe channel which is open to everyone regardless their language setting. GS: Do you plan to introduce in the future some exclusive contents and maps for the european version? We have a long list of ideas and suggestions about what we would like to bring to our service, as we want to make it as exclusive and unique as possible for our European players and at the same time integrate all the other contents that are also available in other MapleStory services. As a start, we have the special annual events mirroring the cultural festive events in Europe. However, we hope that we can update some Europe-exclusive contents and maps as we have them in mind in the near future as you may know, whole new contents and maps require very much time to create, but the time will come eventually. As said, we have many ideas as of what we would like to facilitate. GS: The 4th and the 5th jobs are not implemented yet in the european version. Any plans about that? Definitely, the 4th job advancement is already planned for this year in general, we have speeded up the release schedule and are trying to catch up with the global versions more quickly, so our players in Europe dont have to miss out on anything. GS: Celebrate European festivities is very appreciate by fans. Do you have some new ideas for this aspect that we can expect in the next months? The European festivities have become a tradition for MapleStory Europe, and we already had the Dutch Queens day event earlier this year. The next one coming up is the Spanish La Tomatina event in August. We will also have the German Festival which reflects the German Oktoberfest in September, followed by British Guy Fawkes Day event in November. The events may look exactly the same every year, but in fact, they are fine-tuned each yea |
