I just downloaded Maplestory and when I try and run the program it says: "We are unable to connect to the login server due to a server check, a firewall block, or other network issues. Please check the MapleStory homepage for ongoing server checks as well as your firewall settings." Any ideas on how to fix this?

Whenever I get this problem, its because either my internet isn't working, or there is infact a server check O.o ....

Hmm... maybe not fix it, but getting through it? Turn off your firewalls and get on maple. Then once you are logged in alt+tab and turn ur firewall again. You should try that.

Alright, Firewall's off. Internet's fine. There isn't a server check I don't think? Still not working. Do you think it's because I'm outside of the US currently and am using a foreign computer?

That is most likely the reason why, but try turning off your antivirus, and windows defender if you have vista. If you have windows 7 i don't think it is compatible with Maple but i dunno.

Well I'm vacationing in China right now so I have no idea what my cousin has nor do I know how to translate the characters. Guess I'm stuck till I get back.

China... thats prob why, Global Maple Story isn't actualy GlOBAL, its manly for America, but other countrys can use it, like New Zealand where im at =D

Yeah, there's your problem right there. :P They don't want internet traffic from such faraway places, I guess. It probably would be pretty laggy connecting to a US server from China. though the whole China thing MIGHT have been a good bit of information to mention when you first posted the topic.
