Yesterday I went the the orthodontist and they told me I was about to be due to get my braces off! Finally, after three freakin' years I'm getting them off RIGHT BEFORE HIGHSCHOOL. I'm so excited to get these babies off my teeth. Who here has had braces, and for how long? What was it like getting them off? EDIT: My biggest worry is when I have to get my teeth shaved.

I've had braces for 2 years, when the person took them off, they were yellow as crap. I needed to brush forever to get it white. EDIT: @PaperRose. It feels very weird, it's so hard to brush your teeth after, your hand slips everywhere! When I first got my braces off, I thought there was some gunk or something on my teeth, since it felt so smooth.

I had my braces for 2 and half years. When I got them off I was so happy since i had a new beautiful smile but when the orthodontist showed my my retainers, I wasn't too happy. The first day I had my retainers were so annoying. I couldn't talk right and felt all weird. Now I'm use to it.

I had them. I just got mine off a month ago. It feels really weird when you first take them off and it hurts when you try and brush your teeth.

You can't notice it at all though, so maybe that's why I don't get braces. That, or...my family always forgets. But I'm fine without.
