I would think the fact that it is constantly discussed and has high ratings on a LOT of rating websites would mean that it's a very good game, but then again it could just be a giant conspiracy and I'm putting the cherry on top. Your pick.

It's alright if you're into those games. Just stay away from the mods until you beat the game, otherwise you'll suck the fun out of it.

Its a good game, I got it on the xbox360, unfortunately I got it off gamefly so after I beat it I couldn't continue wandering the wasteland

I played it on PS3 and thought it was really good. You should do all the side quests for experience and stuff before continuing the main plot because you can't go back to do them if you only focus only on the main quest.

Fallout 3 has been, by far, the most meritorious game I've ever bought. In my life. And the PC can make use of the debug console, making it ridiculously easy to hack. Fallout 3 should be a top priority if you're going to buy any game.
