It is really up to you, both have their pros and cons, considering I am a xbowman I prefer xbow but I suppose that is pretty bias.

Xbow = more mob, slower but more power per hit. Hunter = more 1v1, faster but less power per hit. And... thats pretty much it. Hell, it's only 1-2 skills that are different on each side per job adv.

I'd choose speed over power anyday, especially since you can compensate for the DMG loss in so many ways in Maple now. I've made a Ranger before, and I personally loved it. Strife? I think thats what it was, was a lovely skill.

If you're only talking 2nd job/3rd job crossbow would be better, since the scrolls are cheaper and they are basically the same. Please check the stickies before posting these threads.

ummmmmm with recent updates, MM have caught up to BM in 1v1 dmg, but BM are slightly better as you level higher, cause apples dont work with snipe. i obv like power over speed. and freezing is pretty helpful. pierce + snipe > hurricane IMO, spamming hurricane seems like it would get old after 15 minutes. :P big numbers ftw.

go with crossbow . thats about the most unbiased answer you'd get from an archer, seeing as im a ranger. xbow scrolls don't cost nearly as much as bow scrolls btw (but the pirate scrolls are finally lowering price of bow att :D)

I hate how people who very obviously don't have unique questions decide to ignore the fact that it's already been discussed. On a more direct note, however... I recommend Hunter. Mostly because I don't like seeing a bunch of other Crossbowmen around... I like knowing I'm the most underpopulated class in the game. Flamers, don't say Pirates... they don't count yet. They might actually have already surpassed bowmen... hm.

Go be a Sageman. At level30 as a beginner you must go to the Papulatus NPC and get your information there.
