drain cuz blast is usually better than shockwave. shockwave get replaced by dragon strike, but drain never gets replaced.

You guys do know by 120, you'll be able to max both Energy Drain and Shockwave... I chose to get 21 shockwave, and now I'm maxinf energy drain/blast

MP Recovery/oak Barrel is a better use of points than shockwave. heck, maybe even dash...

Drain is insanely powerful. With SI it's attacking speed is just ridiculous. I actually use it over barrage (level 1) sometimes because it's sheer speed along with pretty high damage dominates in most cases.

Even though I only have a lvl 30 Brawler, I say Drain 'cause Shockwave gets replaced by Dragon Strike anyway. ;] @iownedmapl3: Care to explain why?

IMO drain.. I don't think I'd be able to solo Himes without it.. Shockwave does have power, but it also has more delay with transform, energy charge is active most of the time. And with shockwave your pot burn goes up everywhere. With drain I pot like once every 5-10minutes at typhons/himes. Shockwave as a skill, the only pro is its power but I think the cons outweigh it. You can only use it on flat maps, We can't use it on marauder training spots like elderwraiths, typhons, kents, can't really use it on gobies either. Drain is good for bossing too, it's the 1v1 attack for Marauders, I use it on latanica/HH two bosses I kill frequently for the exp. Plus in the long run shockwave just becomes a waste of SP's since its useless in 4th job.

Lol i always thought about it this way, if i max drain and mp recovery then i can just steal hp from monsters and then use mp recovery to use some of that stolen hp and give it to my mp =D its win win, less pots, ftw =D and besides, dragon strike replaces shockwave anyway =D

Drain. Very good DPM, better than DU-FF-FF, even at level 1. Shockwave is a skill very limited by terrain, and has one of the slowest casting times in the game. Also only available in transformed state.
