>>>THE FINAL VERSION<<< Kevvl has asked me to say that all referenced (i.e. quoted) material was used with the permission of the original author. Thank you Why am i bothering to make such a thread? Because im sick of people asking for help with zakum. And this was all found easily using Google (and ... i had nothing to do :D) plus i had encouragement from Psydei... thx alot xD Table of Contents 1. Introduction 1.1 Zakum Monster Description 2. Buying a helm 2.1 Scams 3. Quests 3.1 Instructions to start Quests 3.2 Quest 1 3.3 Quest 2 (jump quest) 3.4 Quest 3 4. The Zakum Run 4.1 Info on monsters: 4.2 Tips in getting more hp 5. Computer help 6. Rewards 7. Legal Details 1. Introduction There are a few reasons for doing zakum runs. If you are a buyer, (and i will discuss that later) then you stand a chance to get this link If you are selling (killing/healing/buffing/etc) then you will be paid to kill it.. (obviously you don't need to read this as you are a seller) Thirdly, there is Zakum Leech, which through PG mule or another (likely illegitimate method) get experience from the arms being killed. *Addition thx to Clericsking1 Some people may pay to pick up Zakum drops which are some Mastery Books, (some may be untradeable such as TT10) and most of the rest are lvl 80+ Equips. 1.1 Zakum link All Credits to MapleWiki Apparently, Zakum is based on an indian legend/myth/belief of a tree of death? and it is the entrance to hell... i guess that explains the lava and poison. 2. Buying a Zakum Helmet qwan456 said: "Reg is when you get sent to the bottom of the waiting list. In some guilds/groups, they give you a certain amount of tries when getting your zhelm. VIP is when you get set to the top of the waiting list. VIP will always loot before a reg member, regardless of how many runs a reg buyers had to play. Same as reg, they can also limit you to an amount of tries. Usually unlimited, though (although, after a certain amount of tries, they may asked you to let a Buyer's player on your account). Tries is when you are limited to the amount of tries you can go on a run to get your Zhelm. If you die, D/Ced, or anything that happens that is your fault, the try will count against you. Full Altar is probably the most expensive package that a guild/group can provide for you. This package will allow you to be the only buyer on the run, so you can loot every Zhelm that drop. This package is mainly for people who want to scroll their zhelm, and in case it will blow up, they can always loot another right away. Depending on who you buy it from if Zakum drop an insufficient amount of helms, they may let you on another run; however, some guilds/groups will only allow ONE chance in getting a zhelm. Meaning even if you buy this package and Zakum only drop 1 zhelm, you will only get that zhelm. Note: The definition of the Reg and VIP package may differ between worlds and guilds/groups. For example, if you want to have a Buyer's Player go on your account for you and loot you

It would be nice if this was stickied as it will sink in the depths of "General MS" with the rest pretty fast. The guide is nice and has answer to all the questions that make difference in buying z-helm. I'm just curious about the "can my computer run this" is this "if it passes all recommended, you should be ok in a pq." 100% true since this is one of the major problems why people get scammed for their items. I would be happy if more ppl could verify this (assuming the buyer is using broadband and doesnt have problems with the internet connection).

@ Porsci, my computer is max in all the things, its a pretty good laptop, and i didn't lag in zakum whatsoever, so yeah... i think it is a quite good indication. its probaly better than just saying go in fm ch1 on weekends and try to not lag... well anyways, only Mr.B can sticky it, and yes my previous threads did sink into the depths of general ms. which is sad, as all the rest are just p/cs and complaints, which the TS is usually offline.
TTR2Pro 06/10/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
yeah thats true josiah, the system is quite dodgy...
JosiahsFriend 06/10/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Porsci, if you lag at cc1 fm entrance at peak time at all, I would recommend seeing if your sellers can go on your account. Pretty much if you ever lag, you will lag in zakum. Eevn if lag doesn't dc you, not being able to heal can.

Yea but my point was that people with older or avg degree computers are always balancing between the idea that is it good enough or is it not. Ofcourse the threads where ppl ask "can my pc survive" and then start tellin how they just bought new computer with 2ghz+ cpu and 2gb+ ram will get maplestory specs as "recommended" as new computers doesnt even include graphics cards that would not be able to handle maplestory. So I'm just askin for a more accurate verify of the test with the minimum requirement to get " all recommended passed " to really be able to handle z-run. Ofc Its better than saying "go fm ch1 and try do u lag" since this has alot of different factors to it, but a real & easy test to show u can handle z-run with avg group would be handy... EDIT: @ JosiahsFriend, Just to point out that there are different reasons of what can make you "lag" in different kinda situation. You can either have problem with ur graphics card actually managing it, ur cpu gettin too loaded or not having enough ram. As in what is the main factor in z-run? I do get lag when I need to load 20+ ppl in same map but I dont have any kind of problem actually workin after everything gets loaded up. (ps. any1 reading this, dont tell me to buy better computer as I am not asking for help regarding my situation)
