the only reason im posting on basil is to see if anyone can relate, im not here to argue or ask for pity...i just want get all these feelings out of my chest Well im not the most poppular and im not the most athletic but i have friends but not a lot of close friends... It all started with me going into gr. 9. My dad told me i was going to start high school at another place. I honestly didnt want to move because i was basically friends with everyone at my elementary school. My dad said i might start after first semester of grade 9. I still had time to cherish my moments with my childhood friends... Of course i made some new friends during that time and i was pretty happy, i had a 'group' that i belonged to. My first day of my new school was just terrible. I knew no one and felt like a total loner... I was always scared to get rejected and i always went home for lunch. This was my first mistake. I should have joined clubs and sports, but again i thought i would get rejected. Second mistake. There were a lot of opportunities i could've made more friends if i would just stop being shy and talk. Although i have friends at my new school, i still cant find a group i can fit in or any really close group of friends to hang out with. When i saw people signing other people's yearbook, i just envyed them. Sometimes i just feel like a total loner and i just hate myself for being so pessimistic and shy. How do people deal with it... This is a warning to all freshmens! Dont be like me and be more active... Hope has already given up on me... btw i dont want this thread ----> a loners fantasy to die, i actually put in a lot of work into it and hope basilers appreciate it

I can't empathize, but I can sympathize. I've been a loner before, but never in high school.

This is good advice, but please do not advertise your thread. You can always bump it yourself or just let nature take its course.

Technically the situation you are in is the fault of you. You must live with the decisions you made.

When I moved from 6th grade to 7th grade, my first week was bad, but then in my english class i made a friend, and from then on, friends just came pouring in.

Yeah, I made a lot of friends from joining clubs as a freshman. Basically, I started over from going Elementary => Middle, then ALMOST started over again from going Middle => High.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Not everyone needs a ton of friends. You have to move at your own pace.

theory said: "I switched school after seventh grade too It sucked but you know...Asians are like the internet, we always somehow know each other " Same as I, switching after 7th grade into 8th grade was bad enough, but going to high school knowing only a few people sucked.

Okay, simple solution JOIN SAC (student council), no one is lonely there and they are hardly reject people. Secondly, groups in high skool are never a good thing (TRUST ME I KNOW). Just try to get along with every one, get close to a couple girls and like go out with a couple girls and you will be fine.
