| This is of major importance. Scamming is becoming a major issue in the maple community, regardless of level, server, or class. Merchanting is in no way scamming and i know there is no way to stop either scamming OR merchanting, but this will deffinitely lower it. First of all, to those who think scammers will "be banned eventually", they won't. Nexon's terms and conditions define scamming as "Gaining personal information required to steal one's account." If scammers steal ITEMS and not an account, They can't be banned. Now, the reason MOST people scam is for revenge. People are very rude in maplestory and very greedy. Often times a scammer BECAME a scammer after scamming an enemy and realizing how fun and easy it was. So follow these few tips, and you will stop people from becoming scammers, and slowly, the number of scammers will dwindle. 1. Give back to the noobs! Especially if you made your money from merchanting. We have all taken advantage of a noob at some point, wether to buy an item cheap or sell it expensively or just to gain expirience. Anybody who says the haven't IS a scammer. So my advice is - the next time a begger asks you for mesos, give him 5-10k. BUT NOT MORE! If you give alot, they will realise they could become rich this way and won't stop. give just enough for a weapon and some pots, and he will learn to play maple the fun way. 2. Don't cuss at noobs or scammers! If you make a scammer mad, he will only want to scam more. If you cuss at a noob, he will be sensitive and vulnerable, and the first time HE gets scammed, he will think: Hmm, that was pretty clever...That scammer won't mind if i try it. 3. Deffinitely, do not DG! Of course, if you want to dg a friend or a professional dger, go ahead as they won't be mad if you win. But a noob who has actually worked hard for his equips will be crushed, and will stop at nothing to get them back as easily as you stole them. So i ask you this: is stealing nooby equips from a noob worth birthing a scammer with a grudge? Atleast dg someone of high level or someone rich who won't care because they get equips easily, and they are actually GOOD equips! 4. Teach the noobs what they need to know! The next time a noob begs POLITELY, give him the 5-10k. If they stick around to thank you or just seem interested in your godly equips, Tell them your secret. I'd be happy to reveal me and my cousin's secrets, and i will if asked. As a matter of fact, just as proof, here's our favorite one: there is a map on the left ludi tower populated entirely of drum bunnies, who drop red whips, chaos scrolls, and red bandanas. That made us a fortune. HOWEVER, Don't brag TOO much! This will just lead to defaming, arguing, and possibly more begging. and i know none of us want that! 5. Treat scammers with respect! The next time you ARE scammed, as we all are at one point or another, (and it pains me to say this), Treat the scammer with respect. First off, you have to admit he was clever enough to scam you. If an item is offered to you for 50m when it is worth 200m, odds are the item has dropped for whatever reason. Try whispering a friend and ask the value. He might not know of the price drop, but it will still greatly reduce the chances of getting ripped off. This works for someone offering 20m for a 5m item, too. Maybe the item is skyrocketing for whatever reason. This will happen soon, because maple month is almost over. " Buying items for low prices is not scamming. |

| DG - Drop Game, you say a lot in your thread, but you can't spell it out? -.- It is called newbie, not noob. Edit - I especially like the one that you should give 5-10k to newbies, so that way they won't beg for more. |

| This is just stupid. Scammers scam because they want mesos. People are quitting and joining every day. In no way is this system going to help anybody. |

I'm just using their language so they'll understand me. Sorry if i insulted anybody. |
