Writing Speech for Next Year Graduation

I am currently writing a speech which I will work on for the next year for I am to graduate in the year of 2010. This speech is about what I believe the role of country has played in our lives and will do so for the rest of them. Note that it has been written with a degree of haste thus far and all criticisms are fair. This is not in its publishing form and I hope you will not hold me up to that expectation at this point. Today is of the essence of all of the potential that you have shown can be accomplished through the idea that our potential as human beings and Americans is infinite. Many of you have already thanked your teachers, counselors, parents and fellow peers for their assistance that you have reached this point in your lives. This is of course not to disregard yourselves for all your hard work and determination. These are the very reasons why we are gathered here today. But I ask you to acknowledge one other source of influence which we are all brought together by. I speak of the influence of Country, we are Americans. With the dawning of this momentous occasion in our lives, we must live up to that responsibility of being the next �great generation of Americans�. This call to greatness will require sacrifice, determination and the unwillingness to settle for less. I call upon you all to renew the American spirit within yourselves and to come to a realization of the influence that Country has played in all of your lives. Your potential today is greater than any other person�s in any other country in the world, but it is what you do which that great potential which is to pave the road forward as the next generation of Americans. The greatness of America has been no coincidence in its absolute success, we are a free people and we with our common values have shaped our country all the way to this point� This is why I ask you all to think for a moment what America means to you. Whatever you may be thinking, it is that vision which you are to shape America with. Like said, we each have an unmatched potential which we all use to move forward with. I request of you heartily to step up to serve America. When I say this, you may automatically think I am implying to serve in the Army or the Military. They too serve and have served our country and many of them in doing so paid a price greater than any we could live up to and I could never express a level of earthly gratitude to them for that sacrifice in duty. But this is not needed to serve America, we serve everyday when we go to work or to school and make effort toward a better country and to set example for the next generation. This is the only way to preserve that American spirit and how it has survived for so long� This is what I have written and it is not complete nor should it be held up to the standards of up-most competence because I have not revised, edited or made many efforts toward the thought of the text. Criticisms are greatly appreciated.

This is my current speech I'm saying this Friday as my "Grade 9 Farewell" since I'm the Valedictorian. And don't flame but only add criticism: Good evening parents, teachers, guests, and fellow classmates. It has been a long journey to get to this point; for some, it was hard, for others easier. But the point is that we are all gathered here to celebrate today, as we take the final steps from junior high and elementary to start preparing for and representing the class of 2012. Since birth, our parents, teachers, friends and others have watched us grow, and have shaped our values, all which contribute to the people we are today. Our theme this year is �We Will Fly.� In keeping with our theme, many people have shaped our wings and motivated us to fly; to be unique and to soar with eagles. Let�s look into the details of flying. First we need to have wings. Our wings are the sum of all that we have learned so far. And the most important group of people that helped us fly is our parents. Without our parents, we wouldn�t be here right now. They are the ones that gave life to us and the ones that have given us our first opportunities. They have driven us to do our best, helped us in our homework, taught us discipline, and more. Today we use the values they have taught us. They give us all they can. They help us make decisions. And when we were old enough, they helped us even more by passing us to the teachers. The teachers furthered our knowledge in all the subjects in order to ready us to face the adult-hood world. Teachers and the coaches help us to do our best and make right decisions. They may be a little bit tough on us, but that�s for the good of the �team� and for us to excel. But the true Giver of all these is God. God has given us our talents, our skills, our brains, and our physical being. We do need to remember that practice makes perfect. Our wings did not just appear overnight. They took time to grow and develop. Through the influence of family, school, church, friends, and others, we have been given a lot of knowledge and practice to develop our wings. We are not perfect yet. Last year, we learned about flight in Science; we know that we need a push from beneath our wings. We can have all the talent and preparation but without resistance, we don�t stay in the sky. We need a push from beneath our wings, and for each of us, that resistance may have taken a different form; perhaps it was a person, situation, or a self-imposed impediment. These are the very things that increase our chances to make our destinations and make wise decisions. Airplanes follow flight schedules. They need to know their destination and the time of their arrival. Do we know what we want to become, where we want to be and at what time? Do we know what our strengths and weaknesses are? Most of us here have an idea of what we want to be, but even if we don�t, or if we change our minds in the process, it is the black box that will record and direct our flight patterns. Ev

@ HeffaLump08 Yeah. I wrote this myself and later I worked with my L.A./Drama teacher to help me with speech patterns and grammar so yeah and thanks for the info. She wants to emphasize a lot and speak really slow 0.0 lols
