| Edit: You have all helped me a lot. I think I'm going to let him be and not bother him. He'll have to climb out of this pit by himself. Thanks a ton for your advice, I appreciate it. Original story goes here: You know the typical skater, right? Baggy T-shirts, groin of the pants between the knees, black knitted beanie on the cranium, shoulders swaying from the left to the right while walking... talking about 6-stairs, kickflips, flipkicks, grease, boards and all... Well, that's my 15 year old brother for you! But there's more to his case. Before he became a skater he was a nice, kind kid, watching Star Trek, building Enterprises and Voyagers out of Lego... now he smokes like a chimney, managed to build up a massive regional accent (we live in the Dutch city of Leiden; the dumbest city of the country, with a very flat accent. He barely had an accent before he was a skater), has drunk beer in school (and nearly got expelled for that), never tells where he's going and then ignored phonecalls, has I think tried out pot and has turned into a massive asshole. Minutes before I wrote this thread we were in a fight because he'd been bitten by a few ticks and refused to go to the doctor because "they weren't there for long, you *censored* and if you don't shut the *censored* up with your *sex*ing mouth I'll *intercourse* kill you and *make love*ing I hope you *censored* die of AIDS and cancer!" (At this moment he's having a bit of a quarrel about it with my Mom, who happens to be a nurse, but she's of course wrong and he knows better) By then I was laughing my ass off, but I'm worried. He's plundering his back account to get cigs and although he SAYS he's not addicted Sunshine came home today from a 4 day handball camp with a TEMPER and immediately rushed to his room to have a few cigs. And when he's not smoking he leaves the case he keeps his tobacco in to smell it (result: house smells like unused tobacco). But he still watches Star Trek, builds Enterprises and Voyagers out of Lego and still buys me candy and Icecream (I'm his 7 year older sister). He has two personalities, sort of, that can replace each other within seconds. From the adorable child he can go to a potential criminal. Anyone if this is going to last? And if so, how can I fix him? I don't think falcon punches, tigerfists, hammerhands and spearfingers will help... Nor would flushing his tobacco down the toilet have a good result. (although I'd rather see the junk go down the drain than down his windpipe). Thanks for your help, Pav |
