As some of you might know, there is a rumor of Disney corporation buying out Nexon (No solid proof yet). There is a slight possibility of MapleStory becoming a Pay-To-Play game if that happens. I'm curious to how the community would react to this. Would you pay a monthly/yearly rate to play? How far are you willing to let them stretch the terms of the term "free" in the game? (Ex. $20 yearly fee, and CS items reduced by 50%).

This would cause numerous people including me, to quit. As a result, Disney would lose a large portion of people who buy NX so they would lose money by making it Pay to Play.

That would be bad. People who play would feel obligated to play more than they already do, that includes the people who play for several hours a day (and no offense to them) I don't think anyone would win, and this would in no way benefit the players of Maplestory themselves. Unless of course, they did lower the prices of CS items, which I doubt they would. Pay to play would more than likely lower customer satisfaction since, at the moment, I cannot think of one reason why someone would prefer pay to play over Maplestory being free, except maybe boost the overall maturity level of Maplestory. Correct me if I'm wrong on any part. edit- I don't know if I would quit. I don't play much anymore, but my friends do. If my friends quit, so would I. If my friends continued to play, I would too.

Only the fact that they might turn it "pay to play" i will surly quit! it does not matter how much money it's gonna be, but to pay for a game which considers "free" to everyone, nah i'll just quit and i am sure that the community will reduce by 30% minimum.
