hey umm my friend has a mage (Mage2o6KT) and hes messing up his character really bad... when i helped him create his character the str and dex were 4. then 3 (lvl 20) days ago i logged onto his mage and he had 22 str... when he logged on i asked him y he had 22 str and he said he heard str will make his atk go up when he doesnt have mp. so is this true or is str completely useless to mages? cuz i tested it out and it only did 6 dmg to a snail.

Ok...yes, he will do more damage with greater str, but that's not a good thing, because you could be doing so much more damage with int as opposed to str. I know that as a beginner, they say that str boosts the attack of mages or some crazy thing like that, but it would only boost physical attack, not magic at all. On the other hand, I think building a 5/4 mage might not be a bad idea, because that 1 str will carry out an increase in HP through the rest of your entire time mapling, and 1 m.atk. isn't going to matter very much to you as a mage, so...

Basically, having that much strength is a very bad idea...

magcleric 02/22/06 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
unless youre a cleric, the str could help increase the hp for clerics, but lower the mp as well. so its kind of good and bad at the same time.
mergle 02/23/06 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
merglestr should not be pushed by a mage. int and luk should be the only skills pushed to do maximum damage.

kamataimu 02/23/06 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
you can consider building a strength cleric. using mage/warrior class maces or common weapons, the only spells you put in are spells like heal and positive buffs for your character like invincible, bless, magic armor, magic guard etc.. that way your only attack is from your weapon and the only use of MP is for defense.

STR is terrible...Magicians should never have STR. It should always be INT/LUK. I suggest restarting that character.

LastExileacctually its an originaly idea by xxxflintxxx im his friend and he says it working out pretty well! i mean its just a game who really cares? as long as the person is satified and is having fun...anyways he uses the maces and he can bash like 300att then he heals so its like a cleric that heals...even tho his magic claw max dmg is like 400 O_O

Str mages are fun. I wouldnt make one, but i saw a cleric hit 300+ at lvl 3x and had heal, Mguard, and magic armor. Basically a wanna-be warrior w/ the lack of Hp, and higher lvl equipment, but make up for it w/ heal, and buff's. I think there should be higher lvl equipment for mages to atk w/ so we can see more of these chars. the person playing will have fun, and the rest of us can get a good laugh watching a lvl 5x hit 300. when we hit 800+ w/ claw(fun for everyone)

The first time I played MS, I had no clue about all this stuff so I decided to become a mage at like level 8 after I had about 25 str o_O (not sure of the level). I became a mage at level 10+ and had an overdose of str =_=. Then I deleted the account and started a new one at level 18 [after transfering all my items of course =D]
