Yes, by now most of us have seen the epic threads regarding str-less brawlers. We've also seen more than our share of dex-less brawlers. Why not mix it up? Instead of going with a normal build, I decided to start going high-dex. By this, I'll aim for having my dex twice my current level. Once my dex has gotten to twice my level, I'll add 2 into dex each level up, and 3 into strength. This way, I'm still hitting high enough to train efficiently, but also gaining avoidability and accuracy for soloing bosses earlier in the game. Another reason I'm making this is because I can't stand staying on a normal build with a class. I just lose interest if things are preset and layed out for me. So anyways, as of today- (I can't post a pic, not high enough feedback... I will asap though!) I'll be starting the next level up. Currently, I have 17 CSB, Maxed HP Increase, 1 BSB, and 9 Mastery. My plans are to finish CSB, finish mastery, max booster, max DU, then max BSB. I'm doing DU before BSB for the purpose of having a better main attack for bosses. I'll be training by PQing, so slightly less damage won't be an issue. C&C is welcome!

shoulda done mastery first so ur dmg is super stable cause dex stables dmg too high dex seems intresting not dexless or strless jsut higher dex keep on posting progress

I wanted to max CSB early so I could help more in CPQ, but mastery is next on my list!

I have a Pure DEX(almost... accidenally added 1 to str =( ) training is getting slow, so i like this idea =D

Do you think it would be more effective for soloing to add 3 points of DEX to every 2 Points of Strength?

What is the purpose to solo the boss earlier if you can't kill it, or take hours to kill it? And aslo you will burn a huge amount of pot. HP/EXP ration or % per hour ratio may be worse than a lot of other monsters. And probably you can't kill it, since you are too weak. You have 1/3 to 1/2 less power or damage than othe brawler at the same level. It only helps when you party with higher level ppl, since you can hit it, but regular brawler can't. Then you are not soloing the boss.

I'm not sure I understand you. I'm only adding 1 more dex per level than a regular brawler. I don't know how that makes you 1/2 to 1/3 as strong as a regular brawler. I'll be training primarily at assorted PQ's, as I completely hate grinding.

I'm sorry for mistakes, if any, made in my calculations. Well, 1 point is a lot, since brawler skill multipliers are so high For example... (using this formula: link ) And using the fact that a level x brawler has a total of 5x+20 stats and the assumptions that the said brawler has 4 INT and LUK, that the equipment does not have any stat bonuses, that the skills used are maxed, and there are 3 monsters in the mob when the skills are used: level 30 mastery: 10% weapon: 34 regular STR: 132 DEX: 30 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 30~226 / 128 flash fist range / avg: 80~609 / 345 somersault range / avg: 169~1286 / 727 dex STR: 102 DEX: 60 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 35~187 / 111 flash fist range / avg: 96~505 / 300 somersault range / avg: 202~300 / 633 level 50 mastery: 60% weapon: 50 regular STR: 222 DEX: 50 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 313~558 / 435 flash fist range / avg: 844~1506 / 1175 somersault range / avg: 1782~3179 / 2481 corkscrew range / avg: 3940~7028 / 5484 dex STR: 172 DEX: 100 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 273~463 / 367 flash fist range / avg: 737~1250 / 993 somersault range / avg: 1556~2638 / 2097 corkscrew range / avg: 3439~5831 / 4635 level 70 mastery: 60% weapon: 62 regular STR: 272 DEX: 70 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 481~853 / 667 flash fist range / avg: 1297~2303 / 1800 somersault range / avg: 2739~4861 / 3800 corkscrew range / avg: 6054~10746 / 8400 backspin range / avg: 3460~6141 / 4800 double range / avg: 2787~4947 / 3867 dex STR: 202 DEX: 140 INT: 4 LUK: 4 damage range / avg: 411~688 / 550 flash fist range / avg: 1111~1857 / 1484 somersault range / avg: 2345~3921 / 3133 corkscrew range / avg: 5184~8668 / 6926 backspin range / avg: 2962~4953 / 3958 double range / avg: 2386~3990 / 3188 As you can see, at level 70 you lose about 1000 damage on each attack. Each attack. Think of what that does to your dpm...
Philip81193 05/27/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
Very good point. However, at level 70 you have 70 more dex than normal. That's a total of 112 more avoid, and 63 more accuracy. So when it comes down to it, would you rather have 1k more damage per attack at level 70, or +112 avoid and +63 accuracy. Checkmate?
sapphire8 05/27/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
sapphire8My brawler was high DEX from the outset ^^ It's still only level 34, though, cause I quit months ago.

Avoid is pointless when the monster has time to hit you more. What would you rather do? Kill a monster in 2-3 less hits (let's say, 3 seconds of being in it's range) or kill it in no less hits but have more avoid (say, 6 seconds of being in it's range)? The time taken to kill negates the avoid. Does avoid make you train faster? No. It might save you a few HP pots now and them, but other than that it's not particularly useful (until you get to the level of avoid that level 12x NLs have).
Philip81193 05/27/09 + PM | QUOTE | PERMALINK | REPORT
If you look at InBomb's strength-less brawler, he had 435 avoidability at level 50. I don't know about you, but that makes training so much more efficient when you can get up close and personal with your enemy without having to worry so much about knockback. Brawlers are such a close ranged class that it becomes annoying to have to work your way close again after being hit back. Also, he has enough avoid and accuracy to attack pretty much whatever he wants. The downside is his damage obviously. So, what I'm proposing is cutting it 50/50. Having half strength for damage, and half dex for avoid and accuracy.

Your idea is weird. That's like a sin adding more Dex than Luk... what? werido
