Hi guys, I wanna share with you something I just learned about today, Electricity Vampires. Electricity Vampires are unsed elecetricity consuming devices, such as your remote control: Has it ever happend to you that the remote control was just working fine and after a day you came back tried to watch TV and the batteries are out? O NO U HAVE TO PUSH THE BUTTON TO TURN THE TV ON! Well this happends with standby controllers or any other standby device, In these kind of devices altough you dont use them they still consume energy. This category also includes computer screens and the computers themselves (let's say you wanna keep the computer on for the night for downloading something or for selling something in maple that's ok that means you are using you computer) but when you dont use it why do you need it? Have you known that each of these devices consumes around 60 dollars of ur money each year? and theoretically if the intire human kind stops letting Electricity Vampires leeching there blood then we'd save 3.7 Billion tons of Greenhouse gas. Turn off your PC screen at day while going to bathroom or w.e Turn off speakers when not used. Turn off caps lock nup pad and caps lock when not needed. Turn off TV when not watched or listened to. Turn off lights! raise ur AC's temprature in 1 degree. low your brightness just bit in both you TV and PC screen Turn off the computer when not used (overnight) Turning the TV is great but did you know the Digital sadalite or cable consume more electricity? now all this information about money saving and making your next generation's life a bit better then they could have been if we wouldnt have done anything is not just reading material it's something you must understand and implement it as well in your every day life. TS post in short: I'm a treehugger who won't make a difference anyway. As if people would remember to take their batteries out of their remote controls each time, and as if that would change anything anyway.

How about the money? people care about there money saving over 100 bucks a year over these small things would give enough people motivation

Avg. age is around 80 years, taking a couple of years away to the first years where you wont be able to contribute with this we'll say 70 years of living where you can save electricity, now this is alot of greenhouse gas. But lets talk about the money, cause thats whats humans are thinking about, so you save around 60 dollars a year and through a full life you'd save 4200 dollars. thats actually quite alot when you think about it. :D

People just don't remember to do that every time. And don't even start with those 3.7 billion tons of greenhouse gases not emitted. That's utter crap.

I said 60 dollars for EACH device, its' 60 dollars max for the devices but it's around 200 dollars in total. I think u'd like saving 200 dollars in one year wouldnt you? the 3.7B greeenhouse is prooven, unless you wanna fight the facts dont speak

All you need is one of the large things that have like 20 plugs. All you have to do is switch it off. :P
