I'm in 9th grade and just tried taking a practice SAT and failed epicly. I got 630/800 on math 440/800 on critical reading 590/800 on writing skills Overall I got a 1660/2400.... But I'm happy that I got 11/12 on the writing part. .......What were your scores on your first SAT? I asked my friends and they all said they got over 2100 on it....of course....they're all super smart asians, but still. Am I really that stupid?

Well I fail then because I took the PSAT's at the beggining of 10th grade and it was fail Critical Reading 62% Mathematics 47% Writing Skills 49% Those percentages are the amount of sophomores I scored higher than .-.

Don't feel too bad. I took the PSAT this year (10th) and did really well, but I haven't taken the real SAT since 7th grade. I got like 680/480/510 back then. But then again, I had a stamina problem back then that I don't have anymore. You may just not be used to the long testing hours like I was. I'm pretty sure it can easily make a few hundred point difference.

Being in accelerated courses won't necessarily help you score higher on the SATs. The SAT tests your overall ability to read, write, and do basic math. Even if you've only learned up through Algebra 2, you should do just fine if you've been taking in what you learn in school. As for me, I got a 2080 on my last one, so I'm retaking it early next year in hopes of getting above a 2100. Test taking skills and testing environment can affect your score more heavily than you think. Strategically leaving answers blank helps. Also, try and take it at a testing site where you're comfortable. I took mine in a horrendously confusing school and I wasn't as relaxed as I should have been. On a final note, practice SATs will help you, but aren't a good way to judge your actual performance. The real thing will usually intimidate you and cause you to score lower. I got a 2310 on a practice SAT I took last month. My real SAT didn't turn out nearly as well.

I got around that score when I took it in 7th grade. This year I took the PSAT, which I scored a 210 on. (I'm in 9th grade now) You'll improve.

Wow, my life effing sucks. I am seriously really really really stupid. I guess I work my butt off and have no life, which is why I get A's in school, but in reality I'm just stupid.

7th grade I got a 1500. 9th grade got... can't remember. 10th grade got 1840 edit: 710 of that was math. I fail at reading/writing.
