Updated: 1/9/07 There are a number of questions in this forum that would be considered redundant. Typically, they involve common myths and biased arguments. In this article, I hope to address as many of these questions as possible, in as much depth as is necessary to come to a conclusion. This article is not meant to be read start to finish. It is intended to answer some of the most asked questions on this forum, accurately and intuitively. I have personally lost interest in the thread and, while it is possible I may return to make changes, I am allowing sapphire8 full rights to the thread's upkeep, should he decide to take the reins. 1) Bronze/Steel/Soul Arrow 2) (Cross)Bow Mastery 3) (Cross)Bow Booster 4) Arrow Bomb and Iron Arrow Damage 5) Jumpshooting 6) Speed VS Jump 7) Snowshoes VS Whitebottoms 8) DEX and ATK 9) Red Viper VS Vaulter 2000 10) Arrow Blow VS Double Shot 11) STR-less Bowmen 12) Strafe VS Double Shot + Final Attack 13) Hunter VS Crossbowman 1) Bronze/Steel/Soul Arrow Some people claim that if you equip Bronze or Steel Arrows, which add +1 and +2 ATK respectively, but cast Soul Arrow, you will keep the ATK benefit without losing arrows. Unfortunately this is not true. While a Bronze or Steel Arrow is equipped and Soul Arrow activated, the change is registered in your stat window, but your actual damage will still be calculated as if you were using a normal arrow. Proof: In one screenshot, illogikul used maximized Strafe ( 100% damage for four arrows) on a Snail, which has 0 DEF. According to his stat window, the minimum damage that he could cause is 968, but he clearly hits for 963 in one of his attacks. This means that when Soul Arrow is in effect, Bronze and Steel Arrows will not add ATK, regardless of what the stat window tells you. 2) (Cross)Bow Mastery When you put points in (Cross)Bow Mastery (often shortened to "Mastery"), every odd skill level will raise your minimum damage by a certain percentage. This tightens the range of your raw damage, which as you know is used everywhere. Investing in this passive skill is a very wise choice. When it reaches level 19, the skill brings your minimum damage to within 60% of your maximum, and adds 19 ACC. Adding one more skill point only increases your ACC by one, which is about as useful as one point in Blessing. However, there is a fourth-job skill called "Expert Mastery" that brings your minimum damage to 90% of your maximum when maxed. A prerequisite for this skill is having Mastery at level 20, so for purposes of planning, it is a good idea to invest that last point in Mastery, perhaps at level 70 before you reach third job. There is also a common myth surrounding Hunters and Crossbowmen, graphics-wise. When you shoot from a (cross)bow, a colored streak appears briefly as the arrow is loosed. When Mastery reaches level 19, the streak no longer appears, and is instead replaced by a large red flare. This red flare, which exists purely for aesthetic purposes, does not change if you p
