I tried looking for another topic about this, but I could not find one. I downloaded Fraps, and everything seems to be working fine. When I bring up Maplestory, it works the same, and I can see the frame numbers from Fraps in the top left corner. The problem is, when I press F9 to start recording, the game stalls for about 3 seconds, then either my computer freezes, requiring a manuel restart, or Maplestory closes. I have changed where my videos are saved to, turned off sound, and selected the least amount of FPS, but it still does the same thing. My computer is fairly old, but not ancient. I have Windows XP. I am not sure about my graphics card, which could be my problem. Another thing I can think of is that my processor just can't handle it. If anyone has had this problem or has advice, it would be much appreciated.

It could be a hardware failure (component not being good enough). Recording high quality video while playing is very heavy for the processor.

Is there anyway to reduce the quality? Or am I better off just not dealing with it?
