Maplestory Virus?

Ok, today i started up my laptop like any other day. I opened Maplestory, and my virus protection software popped up saying there was a virus that had to do with Maple. I swept my computer and cleaned it up. Later, after playing Maple for awhile, I did another sweep to be sure. It caught the same virus i just destroyed, saying it was related to Nexon, then when i tried to restart my computer, it froze my computer and deleted Maple. Has anyone had this problem or heard of anything like this?

Maple is considered a virus because of it's coding, and the fact that some of the anti-hack software needs keen supervision of your computer, making it look like a keylogger or something that could cause key info to be at jeopardy

The virus is called Mal/Generic-A. I don't know if that helps, I've never had this happen until today, and now when i reinstall Maple it can't open.

Why would a multi-million dollar company want to mess up their customers' computers? This would 1) Get rid of their customers. 2) Get sued multiple times. 3) Be shutdown and the maker of the virus would be imprisoned. I have never gotten a virus from Maple. It may not be maple :O

Maple hides a rootkit in your registry to detect hacking or hijacking programs. Just add it as an exception. |

I'm a computer technician here is the solution: Make you anti-virus / fire wall allow access for MapleStory. The reason it's being picked up as an anti-virus is because Nexon staff implemented a Key logger and Computer Scan into the new patch to prevent hackers, scriptwriters, and botters. This is just the engine kicking in, scanning basic keywords and checking for suspicious background programs. There is nothing wrong with your anti-virus or firewall, it's actually doing it's job. Just allow access or disable the firewall and you should be okay. -Tag
