So we (few cities in The Netherlands) are soon going to have this new type of internet and TV. This is a new technique where you can surf internet (and watch tv) in light speed. it works with a new type of cable made of fiberglass, instead of a copper. This allows us to download with 60MB per second and upload with 6MB per second. The cable is already next to our door, in Julie it is gonna start. Is this something new, or is this really old and are we (Dutch people) really late =P EDIT: It is written in Dutch, But I think you can understeand it. You need to read the left piece of text (where it says "GOUD")

Fiber optics has been around for a while. It is only recently they've began incorporating it within broadband lines. My father works for Motorola who's one of the top producers of this new technology in internet products. They manufacture the new "internet box" for this. Also, unfortunately you're not the first to get this. Sorry guys.

fiber optics its old already,been out since around 1998 or so,i still remember when i got my new equipment[new @ that time =D] using fiber optic connections
